...I've gotta say, I'm VERY glad to have a new Rev Raptor. This one shall not 'splode! D: Onto mah review. Rev Raptor is a small windup, Velociraptor type. Note that this is an Academy release, so it's all in Korean. YAY! My new Revvy ish special.Back of box has the usual battlestory and stat stuffs. Also in Korean. Whee. Pictured here are the Counter Scythes. These are Revvy's only stock weapon, aside from teeth and claws. Speaking of teeth, check 'em out. Curved backwards, so ripping would be even more effective than usual. Pilotmans are pretty well-protected in a Rev Raptor... Headbutts are possible in one. Shot of the whole Zoid. Note the agressive aesthetics. A swarm of these babies attacking... well, anything, would mean certain doom for the target. Rev Raptor is the most accurate, anatomically, of the three Velociraptors, however, it's also the only close-range fighter. When I saw this photo, I freaked. I thought it was a crack, but it wasn't. There you go, folks! Rev Raptor, EZ-027. I give him 10/10! He's a must-have for any collector, and no, that's not just bias because he was me first Zoid. :P

YESSS! Another review on an under-appreciated Zoid. Way to go, Kaelin! I love Rev Raptor, he's got to be one of my very fav wind-ups. Such an awesome little design Sweet box, too! I think you and I need to wage an internet campaign to get Koto to produce this guy as an HMM. Whad'ya think, K? ;D

I agree fully and wholeheartedly. *Raises Koto Revvy banner*
Revvy has so much detail for his size he just deserves the HMM treatment!

Rev is very nice. My only beef with the little guy is that he needs more flexy legs, which is why a Koto Raptor would OWN MY SOUL DX
If I could have a Koto Rev and a Koto Geno... I would be perfect.

Revvy is a very nice design... too bad he comes stock as a cool, fast target. Hmm.... perhaps my Revvy needs a bit more firepower?

Ok - deep breath: I hate Rev Raptor !
It is one of the few motorised NJR Zoids I don't own. The colour scheme is just awful. Maroon and grey with blue caps simply does not work. And the split of the colours looks pretty random. Like when you see a car with one door salvaged from the junk yard.
Raven Raptor is an entirely different story. I only bought it because it came with the Sturm Tyrann, but once I built it, I actually really liked it. Having all the limbs one colour helps a lot, and the black, purple and silver has a very evil and regal feel to it. If Darth Vader lived on planet Zi, he'd drive a Raven.
Even so, the mold could use a lot more articulation: on the tail, arms and legs. And a bit more fire power wouldn't hurt either.
Overall - the design is sleek and vicious. It has some very nice sculpted details, but the Rev colours ruin the look. Sorry !

the only strange thing about him is adding the Cp-19. One needs to mention the special gun/windup turner. A great innovation for windups.

If Darth Vader lived on planet Zi, he'd drive a Raven. No, he'd drive a Gilvader. Silly Zed. :P

But windups looses their properties (metal springs wear down) over time, and I try to be very careful with windups. For HMM kits, if TT thinks RR is too small to sell by itself, it could probably packaged it together with Gun Sniper/Snipe Master as a versus set. That's just wishful thinking.

AUGH DAMMIT silly mental images I HATE YOU BOTH.The HAIR label pic made me snicker. I hate it when something like that gets into a good shot and I'm left wondering if I can paint it out...

Hurrah! For Rev Raptor! I'm partial to all 3 of the smal Raptor-types (Snipe Maser, Gun Sniper, Rev Raptor) and Revvy is up there at the top. Despite a lack of articulation (KOTO) and a lack of firepower (easily solved by sticking half of a stock Shieldy's back guns onto each elbow), it's a great mold. Curvy teeth, slanted eyes, pointy everywhere.
The NJR Rev is... -alright-, colorwise, I guess. But if anyone wants to see Rev Raptor really shine, Raven Raptor is what you want. As zed mentioned, the almost-black-blue (limbs and body), goldish silver (chassis/underbits), standard silver (cockpit, claws) and green (eyes) with purple caps is much, much better than Revvy.
And Darth Vader would, like, so have a Death Saurer. ;D

I have both and think the standard colored Rev is..okay, but I do agree that the Raven is nicer. But Night Fight version pawns them both Why must you continue to taunt me, black & purple & shiny gold bringer of doom!

If I had money on hand I'd be after a Raven Raptor... But yeah. As such, the best I can do is attempt a repaint to look like it.

Raven's appeal to me is in its really subtle color shades...the twitch of funky blue in the not-black, there being gold-with-silver and silver-with-gold, the deep purple...the grey CP breaks that, which is another reason I don't like it.
That said, the regular colors are better in person, and so far I've had bad luck making them photo well. The red has a nice depth, the gunmetal sets off the cockpit well and the grey's more silvery...my only real issue is it's all dark colors. I bet a bit of silver paint detailing could make one really pop if you wanted.
