For what basically amounts to a recolour I am stoaked beyond belief to finally own one of these. Brachois newtype. Released at the same time as command wolf mk2 and bearfighter mk 2, unlike his helic republic super 1000 cousins nobody seems to give him any love I don't get it.. Just look at that black and red paint scheme.. if that doesn't say black obsess mad mini stompy what will? Ok all editorializing aside, this is one nice zoid. The red and black colour scheme is particularly nice, and the transparent red bits work well. the brachios mould was a lot less thrashed when this zoid was struck from the dies, and the moulding is incredibly crisp and tasty. The detail is supurb, and the stickers are extraordinarily close to the same shade of red as the plastic, making for a very nice appearance. AS always its a brachios, if you haven't seen one stomping across a table wiping its head like a determined dino battering ram, you need to buy one (or rebuild yours so the head works) The best thing about brac newtype? Cheap as hell. between 2000-5000 yen depending on phase of the moon for a built one, and under 10 K yen for a boxed one most of the time.compared to bearfighter mk2 or command wolf mk2, thats under half price. Its rarity and brilliant colour scheme make this a must have for any true zenebas fan Highly recomended

I have much love for this guy. He was the second OJR I ordered from kimono my house, back in 1995.
What's odd is the newtype seems to show up more than the regular version.

The New Type was sold from 1988 to 1991, the MK1 was sold only from 1987 to 1988. Even in the OER line, it is the rarest Super1000 Zoid.

Red and black - classic evil colour scheme !
I never liked the Brac design til my Wife bought me a NER one for Christmas, a few years back. I think it was the big, hollow feet that put me off. But once I built him, I knew I was wrong ! The cockpit in the body with the mad battering head is so cool. And totally unexpected.
Brac is very well engineered Zoid, and I agree the Newtype is the best colour scheme.

Very awesome find, sir. He's a very, very sexy Brac all right. Certainly the best looking version of what is, to my mind, a very under-rated design.
Yes, I love him, dammit.
I've begun to reach the conclusion that all the Super 1000s that aren't Command Wolf are very under-rated. And Command Wolf is way over-rated. (Hides from Tilly)

Command Wolf, to me, is a case of cool amid extra-cool. I do wish the other large windups got more love, especially Gorhecks. Gorhecks is just freaking awesome in all sorts of ways.
I can't comment on Brachios, but that's just 'cause I don't have one yet. I don't like black over red and think the "evil colors" thing is silly, but I wouldn't mind a Newtype, just 'cause it's Zenebasy and not overpriced.

Brac is nice... I have the NJR and I recolored a second NJR to this scheme. It has some nice details, such as the telescopic turret that folds under the armor plating. Still needs more guns, but a very decent design, especially for a HI power plant.
Hmm... even rarer than Lidier?

so...what? $50? But why? If he's rarer than lidier, then why's he so cheap?
...god, I need to learn how to search YJA...

Cause his design is underrated SB. mostly becasue his head is one sheer, ungainly bastard to put together right, resulting in him freezing up if you get it wrong.

No...they go for a helluvalot more, unfortunately - especially the Bear Fighter. I think the Shieldy is the best of the Mk.II lot, though, and far more available thanks to TDP.
As for the low price despite high rarity, it's all supply and demand. You can get a Brachios and repaint it to Newtype colors easy, no amount of paint will pull a Lidier out of the air.
