The Guntiger Zoidscon 2003, that was made by Jedi Bill and sold to the person who attend at the convention in 2003 in UK. Only 10-12 were done. I was lucky to get one. It is a Zoid that won’t be seen any longer I think, most of all MIB.
The box, not open yet.
Inside the box, in the bag.
Still on sprue, but it won’t last. It is maybe the last MIB one on the planet, but I must build it. The only things I didn’t build are the Core Box and the Memorial Sets (for the Memorial, I already have everything from my childhood, and for the Core Box, I already have 4 green and grey Mammoth).
Finished ! It wasn’t long, for I never sticker a chrome Zoid (appart for the convention gold CW). I encountered the same problems as ever with chromed Zoids : strip the chrome from the pegs, on the other hand the parts do not fit, and there can be pegs broken. An advice I can give if one day you have a LEO chromie to build : beware of the pegs, and put away the chrome from the pegs. After several chrome Zoids built, you get used to those problems.
The aspect is very good, you don’t see even a little part of red under the chrome, the electroplating is very well done (it is not everytime the same on the LEO chrome). There is no problem with the ergo too. You can see that it is not all the sprue that were chromed, the pilot and some parts weren’t. In fact, the only colour is silver, while on the other ZF Zoids, there was several colours.
You can say it is only a Zoid for crazy completist like me, but since there is no chrome production any longer, those kind of Zoids are begining to be searched, most of all the Zoidfans editions. So I can only say to Gouf that he is lucky to have gain a Zoidfans Shadow Fox, and he should keep it very preciously. I have records that in Japan, the Zoidfans editions are searched by collectors.
I am happy to have it now, and I’m thanking the person who sold it to me. It was the last Zoidfans edition I didn’t have (I wasn’t able to be at Zoidscon 2003), and I have a special feeling for those Zoids.
