DX Hover CargoFinally it arrived... Acquiring a whaleking recently, I was so excited to get this one. but the excitement died when i saw how small it was... The box itself was small... length is roughly an inch or two longer and height is a tad shorter than a commandwolf box. Heres a pic with a firefox for size comparison. Opening the box will reveal 4 mini zoids that make up the Blitz Team (Liger Zero, Command Wolf AC, Gunsniper with CP13 and Raynos). And the thing has lots of moving/opening parts that will keep you busy for a long time. One such example is the head of the snail, if you roll the unit on the ground, the head moves in and out, very cool. Then when you open the head part, support legs moves into place. The details of the Hover Cargo brought back my excitement for it. But of course, when compared to a whaleking, i know you'd definitely choose the whale. I would. The Good-Lots of moving/opening parts -Faithful to the anime The Bad-Rare (atleast in the PI) The Neutral-the mini zoids are not scaled properly, but who cares right? hehehe. All in all... 8 out of 10! Now if you'd excuse me... Side panel..OPEN! -wel

Great review, chainer I too was suprised at the scale, I didn't expect the Whale King to be as large as it was and the Hover Cargo as small. But still, citing the points you made, it is indeed a nifty little piece to own!

Actually, in the battle story, this is how big they are supposed to be. They carry other Zoids on the side pannels.. But somehow, few Liger Zeros, infantry, and a bunch of equipment can fit inside of one.

If only they make a version of that with the same scale of Zoids...

If only they make a version of that with the same scale of Zoids... I think that's a custom job waiting to happen.

You are underestimating the Liger Zero's stacking abilities. They cram in there like little sandwich kitties!
I like the little Command Wolf AC...

About what scale are the carriers and the mini-zoids, does anyone have solid numbers? Snowflake is curious. As for the review, good job! People never talk about the carriers

Chainer, nice review. I never took out my own Hover Cargo but seeing your pics, it looks good out of the box. For awhile I didn't know what the stickers were meant for, then I realised it was to label the opening doors and stuff. Small as it is, the Hover Cargo is a nifty DX playset. Oh yeah, those 4 gashapon-style Zoids that came with it are slightly larger than the Yujin Battle Series collection.

Thanks. Tisinc has dragoon nest and whaleking at 1:360 scale... But from the boxes it says that the Hover Cargo has a length of 94.5 meters and 225 meters for the whaleking.. Then the toys measured 8 and 21 inches, hover cargo and whaleking respectively... so i think 1:465 (Hover cargo) and 1:420 (whale king) would be a good start... but dont quote me on that. -wel

ZoidianKing, that would be the Hasbro version of the Hover Cargo.

Hey Chainer - nice review of a nice model. Its true that the mini LZ is smaller than the Gunsniper, but I'm not too bothered. If you're looking for that Dragoon nest click HERE BIN for $33 from a Hong Kong seller. zed
