Yuji Kaida Series #6: Buster Tortoise

#06 In the Yuji Kaida Series, Buster Tortoise was sold along with the Blade Liger Mirage.



Parts Out of the Box:

For a lowly Tortoise that had a drab color scheme in the NJR series...this Limited Edition Zoid is a welcome improvement. The shade of blue is more or less the same as an NJR Shield Liger. However as far as the CP-05 Beam Cannon Unit, the color scheme is unique and can be found only by getting this Zoid since the standard CP-05 was green and the limited release CP-05 was gun metal.

Nothing special about the stickers and instruction sheets.

The disappointing thing is that the CP-05 Beam Cannon isn't as adjustable as Cannon Tortoise's original Cannon and it also hinders the back hatch to be open.

The good:

1. Very Attractive recolor
2. Looks very menacing with the CP-05

The bad:

1. Pricey
2. CP-05 isn't as adjustable as it should be
3. CP-05 hinders the opening of the back hatch or door

Nice review Blitz, I can see the Buster looks better with stickers on. The colour scheme is definitely attractive, but the CP-05 was not meant to be adjustable like the original weapon. It cannot move once it is fitted into the radar attachment slot, and that is a pity. Was hoping for it to have some degree of mobility.

My CP-05 moves a bit, but not to the extent of opening the back hatch. I really like this zoid-CP combo, and I like this color scheme too!

Thanks for the comparison shots Blitz. I've put off purchasing the Hasbro Missile Tortoise for too long. Seems like a good time to get one, along with Cannon Spider.

The Missile Tortoise is fugly. Seeing it next to Buster Tortoise just makes it look worse ...

Missile Tortoise is not ugly. He just has more detail than Cannontortoise.

...I think he may be my 2-year-old cousin's favorite Zoid, due to the noisemaking missle launcher.

It's fun getting him to say Zoid Names... XD

He likes zoids. That's the first thing he goes to when he goes in my room...

Has anybody tried putting cannon tortoise walking system into missile tortoise?

I was considering doing a few mods to change my missile tortoise into the brown beam tortoise from Genesis episode 1.

I've never tried it, but I do have some spare Cannon Tort chassis lying around. Sounds like a good custom attempt.
