Thanks to some cheaply acquired Hurricane Hawks...finally got all the ingredients to make the non boxed set Bite Griffon.
I had high expectations for this Zoid...since he does look a whole lot better than Ground Draco in pictures that Takara Tomy and other review sites like Life Zoids
Personally This doesn't look like a Griffin IMHO....more like a Manticore...
To pull this off you need
NBZ-01 - Brave Jaguar
NBZ-02 - Hard Bear
NBZ-03 - Hurricane Hawk
The finished product:
IMHO....this guy is a whole lot easier to figure out building compared to Ground Draco. That is if you do not have any of the boxed sets and is relying upon the diagrams from all three instruction sheets. The instruction sheets by the way does not tell you how to build it on a step by step basis, you have to figure it out since they just simply highlight the parts that is being used to make Bite Griffon. How I built this guy was I built the separate Zoids first then combined to form him after just like what I did to Ground Draco.
At first I thought that the Hard Bear Guns will get in the way of the wings, thus making it not able to rotate it to a 180 degree level but I was pleasantly surprised that it is possible.
I also switched the feet putting the Hurricane Hawk's feet at the front while Hard Bear's at the back.....
The wasted parts:
compared to ground draco...Bite Griffon had a lot more unusable parts once the Gattai is made..noticeably the Neo Blox themselves. Ground Draco by the way utilizes all the Neo Blox of all 3 of its component Zoids.
The good:
1. A more fluid looking Gattai Neo Blox Zoid
2. Articulation
The bad:
1. lots of unused parts
B)
