Ltd Naomi Fluegel's Red Gunsniper

Naomi Fluegel was a character in the Zoids Zero series. Her fighting style is simply to snipe or rush to the best spot and start dispatching opponents from afar. It is only fitting that she piloted a Red Gunsniper.

This limited edition Zoid was released several years ago in conjunction to the popularity of Zoids Zero.

If you noticed, this particlar Zoid has three shades of red....One thing that I didn't like was that there were painted parts.



Documentation:

Nothing to write home about. Instruction sheet and stickers are the same as the regular release Gun Snipers.



The finished product:

To be honest I didn't really expect a lot from this ltd Zoid. But this piece actually looks good in person. The three shades of Red makes it stand out. This particular piece, I will not put stickers since they share the same sheet with a regular Gun Sniper. However there are quality issues with this....the missile pods, lower jaw's plastic's finish is to be desired for, the plastic almost looked like a bootleg just by looking at those pieces. Not to mention that you will have to do with touch ups when cutting off the painted parts....I touched up mine with a black felt tip marker but didn't touch up the Carolina Blue colored guns. Panel lining this would certainly make it look better.

I like limiteds as much as the next person, but I don't know....this one leaves me unimpressed If your going to make a limited of a anime exclusive Zoid it needs to follow said Zoid more closely. I just don't like the different shades of red, it needs to be one shade of gloss red. To me, it's not worth the price it goes for. But hey, if it floats your boat, that's all that matters

Ltd Gun Sniper!!!
*ahem* Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of sniping and sniper zoids, so Naomi is among my absolute favorite characters(I still say she deserves her own side story) which makes this a Ltd I need to acquire. However, I am dissapointed by it. Tomy went through all the trouble of painting the claws and guns, yet they miscolored the former. Her GS has metal/silver claws, not black ones. I have a folder full of sketches and screencaps of Naomi and her Gun Sniper, and none of the G ones does it ever have black claws.

Tomy did manage to get the shades of red right, and the wrist mounted vulcans are accurate on average, so it's not all a loss. I do agree with Lord Pheno, this zoid needs a custom Naomi pilot figure.

Adam, in that case, could you show a screenshot of the actual colours in the anime? I'm getting this critter fairly soon and if need to, I'll probably repaint it.

It was a good idea to make this LTD version, but even in red, Gunsniper is ugly. It was really expected in 2000 because it was one of the very first brand new Zoids released, but when I had it in hands, it was... bof.

The new colour scheme is an improvement, I think one shade of red would have looked too flat. I have not memorised the cartoons enough to notice if it is 100% show accurate.

But the Gun Sniper model is a disappointment, overall. I know exactly what you mean when you say it looks like a bootleg, it lacks sharp edges and details. Legs are too obviously hollow, tail flaps should be posable, and yes you lose lots of paint in places. Probably would have been less obvious to have a black sprue, with the body painted red.

Its a shame, cos I really wanted to like it.

I didnt even realize the guns were like a light blue. I thought that they were a different color. I actually forgot because I havent seen one built in a while.

There ya go, one of the better images I have of Naomi's zoid. It's none too crisp, but the color difference is blatent.

I wasn't impressed with this zoid at first, but your review (and those pics) actually make it look pretty good!
I actually like painted parts, mostly because Tomy uses really, -really- good paint. Still, it would be nice if zoids called up gundams and asked them how they did that three-colors-of-plastic-in-one-sprue trick

you mean the "multi-color-sprue system"?? its basically i mold poured in different times for the dff colors..

ex: if the spre is red+ble pour in bule then let it dry then pour in red.. fairly symple but some of bandais ("gundams) tech is fairly had to duplicate. esp the molds with internal locks (to keep the plastic form going into parts its not supposed to..
