A quick micro review of the Custom Blox Zoids. Pics taken via my mobile phone, so apologies if they,re not great.
Firstly, I ordered two sets of six from Amenbo, so they included the Display Case.
Not that interesting, but its was FREE ! Monochrome blue, pretty similar to the Baratz Case.
I've started with CBZ-03 Garninaru, cos he's cute.
Box, again pretty much like the Baratz. The sheet has the instuctions of all six CBZ kits, but with the CBZ-03 larger than the others.
Parts are pre-cut, so no chance of stabbing yourself. Maybe I'm lucky, but these were nicely cut, without large chuncks hacked off.
Garninaru in all his glory ! Took about 60 seconds to build, mainly cos I forgot to put the Blox inside and had to take him apart again. What is he supposed to be again ? For me, he will always be The Slug Zoid !
Gun Mode ! No re-building required, no spare bits left over, etc ! Its a Transformer-zoid !
CBZ-03 with a Feelesword. Very similar size, which is not surprising as the CBZ's are essentially Baratz v2.
A bit of a tight squeeze in the Cockpit. Or maybe they're just holding hands cos a MadThnuder is walking towards them !
The Good: It will probably take you longer to read this review than to build one of these. Great for busy Zoiders. He's quirky and nicely detailed. The small gun on the side is actually a gattling weapon with 8 barrel holes ! And he transforms. Woot !
The Bad: The Gun Mode is a little wimpy, but its understandable given the way it transforms. No stickers - Boo!
The Ugly: I'm not a fan of the new pilots, so far. Maybe they'll grow on me ... And making the Cockpit just a little too small seems a little careless to me.
Overall, Nine Caps out of 10.
