The Candy Liger Review (Ltd Holotech Hayate Liger)

The Holotech Hayate Liger is the 4th limited edition Zoid that Tomy churned out for the Genesis series. At first I have apprehensions of getting this but when I saw the body was also made of translucent plastic...those apprehensions faded. I affectionately called this the candy liger due to the translucent plastics used especially the red is simply eye candy and not to mention they do give the appearance of it being made out of candy.






Comparison to the regular Hayate Liger:

(Cam I borrowed doesn't have optical Zoom and the functions are very limited ... don;t worry though, im gunnin for a Powershot A620 or I may go for Digital SLR prolly a Rebel XT 350D or a Nikon D50



The good:

- Nearly all the parts are made of translucent plastic
- Stiffer parts especially for the backpack

The bad:

- torso armor is stiffer but still easily gets loose
- should have made the mane or the other gold parts and swords translucent

still this is one stunning Zoid..I highly recommend it

That's definitely a stunner there Blitzwing. Nice catch. I have to really save up for one because they don't come cheap.

You're right though, they should have made the gold parts translucent as well, or a shiny gold instead of the molded gold colour.

Apart from that I feel that this holotech version is much nicer than the regular Hayate.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Holotech Hayate anyways?

Didn't like it much when I first saw it and.... I still don't like it much. I was never a fan of the Hayate Liger in the first place due to terrible design and the colours aren't that great... the mix of translucent and opaque parts kinda ruins the effect too.

Oh and I think it's officially not called a Holotech. Special Colour or something but the one you get with the DVD Boxset is for some reason called Holotech despite everyone calling it crystal xp

Bout the candy part. Wonder if Tomy would create a limited edition translucent chewy sweet. I bet the person we buys it will never eat it .. perhaps the ants when he or she puts it on the shelf.

Below the main there are three blades. On the reg they face backward on the HT they face forward. Witch is the correct direction?

Correct, Hayate Liger is the one that came with that special gold Pile-Banker.

but it makes this zoid seem, well 'not right' for want of a better word, i think he looks fine just by himself but people always complain about him spontaneously falling to bits o_0 i guess i'll hjave to cross my fingers when i get one
