Blade Hawk EWS

After Sauro Knight, we now have his buddy Blade Hawk EWS. Whats the EWS ? Extra Weapon System, according to the sticker sheet.

The box is much bigger than I was expecting. 23 x 19 x 6cm. Usual mono-chrome design, which is getting a bit boring.

And combined with Murasame. As well as the shuriken, BH also privides a new visor, and changes to the armour on the cheeks, shoulders and hips.

The instuctions also demonstrate how to make a bigger version of the shuriken. So here it is. Whoopee ?

The Good:
In Hawk Mode, this is my second favourite mini-Zoid, second only to TransHawk. The design looks solid, yet sleek and is covered in details: panel lines, rivets, vents, etc. BH is very wide but not very tall. Reminds me of TB1 from ThunderBirds 2086.

The Weapon Mode looks like it would cause real damage. And scores extra points for originality. Sure, Pointy Death has been done before, but never as a shuriken. Nice ninja theme to complement the very Samurai styled Liger Blue Souga. Not too many spare parts left over, which I also like. Colours look good in both modes.

The Bad:
In Hawk Mode, the big, hollow boosters under the wings look a bit poor. In Weapon Mode, adding the BH armour parts is pretty fiddly. Its a shame the arrow heads and V section were not incorporated into the Weapon Mode, since they look very cool.

The Ugly:
Who the **** designed the Hawk Mode to not sit flat ? ! ? ! WHY ? WHY ? WHY ?

Plus its a Game Ltd: so it will be expensive and hard to find. I'm lucky that I'm rich/stupid enough to pick one of these up, but its a shame its not more widely available.

But overall, I really like BH in both modes. If you see one going cheap, you should definately grab it.

and can we get a picture of maybe both the Knights and the Hawk fuzed on at the same time? With the parts on you like the most?

justy my opinions on the shinobiliger fusion:

the color scheme for the hawk is perfect, darkblue is pretty good for a ninjabird and ity complements the color scheme of the liger pretty well.

the hind leg armor gained after the fusion seems too small and slapped on.. the should have designed these better..

the shuriken is cool, also those small kunai (arrowheads) can be held in the ligers mouth (extra points for that)

Interesting! A zoid that a hardcore collector would try really hard to find, considering it's a Game Ltd.

Its a game limited yes, but oddly its available on both Yahoo Japan and Ebay, just like its buddy - Sauro Knights. So where do these boxes come from if they were supposed to be purchased with the game itself? Excess stock? I don't quite know and I doubt I wanna know either.

Its available so if you want one, go get them before they go kaput in stocks. In short, a Zoids collector need not look far to own one. Its more of the issue of how much are you willing to fork out for one, and how badly you want it.

Hardcore or not, this bugger and his buddy would be a definitely must-buy if you can get them cheap.

Eh, I'd like this fella if he had a bit more meat on him. It's like the Ptero Rayse (which I own) in that respect, he's very flat. Still, he has an advantage over the Ptero Rayse in that he has a more involved fusion xp

I like Pterorayse, but then again Blade Hawk is a cool Zoid to have.. now.. should I fix mine up?
