First off, if it hasn't been painfully clear already, I am a huge dinosaur fan. Always have been. And my all-time favourite dinosaur is Tyrannosaurus rex, so naturally I've been dying to get my hands on this baby. And he does not disappoint. I think BT is the most poseable T. rex toy of all time. The rear-facing claws on his feet are hinge-jointed, but the front-facing ones swing freely. He's got four balls joints in his tail, ball-jointed hips and shoulders, ratcheting knees, hinged elbows and fingers, a swivel joint and a ball joint in his neck, and a hinged lower jaw. And then there's those creepy-as-hell rib claws that unfold from his flanks for melee combat. I really like how his ebony exoskeleton is all rubberised plastic. It makes him seem more organic, plus it reduces the chance of breakage should he fall off a shelf or something. And it makes him smells good! Okay, there are actually two things about BT that do disappoint me, albeit only slightly. First, his sounds are more like irritating static than ferocious roars. The flashing light in his chest isn't terribly impressive either. I do, however, love his translucent red eyes. I've got BT standing tall atop my hard drive in front of the window so that whenever it's a sunny day outside, his eyes glow menacingly. The second is his lack of ankle joints. I guess the designers were worried about his stability. He is pretty front-heavy. As of now, Bio-Tyranno is my all-time favourite Zoid and one of my all-time favourite dinosaur toys. Thank you, Tomy and Amenbo!

It's not like we don't have enough Bio Rex reviews already, but yours is certainly one of the best i've seen with. Great pics and good description, thanks!

haha I just realized that those pics resembles Jurassic Park 3 battle between the rex and the spino. Anyways, great review and great pics. Yeah, except this battle ends the RIGHT WAY. JP3 was a steaming heap of horse!@#$. Thanks for all the compliments, folks! I'll be at Cybercon in NYC this weekend; hopefully I'll be able to score more Bio-Zoids! ;D

Did someone hit the self destruct button on the spino?

Did someone hit the self destruct button on the spino? No. After inflicting a crippling neck bite (as shown in the second photo), Bio-Tyranno tore off the fin array and knocked the Spiner to the ground. As the Spiner flailed helplessly, BT dismembered it limb from limb, starting with its right leg. After he spits out the Spiner's left arm, he will tear the body to pieces until he locates the Zoid Core. And eats it.
