Its the Evangelion parody thats a million times better then what its parodying.
Its a sorta wild and chaotic and insane kinda thing... its very much like the way I think... I can't help but enjoy it...
That and the looks on some poeple's faces when they see iti s priceless.

Episode Five, also featuring the giant hand monster robot and the awesome song by The Pillows, Blues Drive Monster.
There's actually a lot of sense behind it, you can see all these little refernces and the general story-line is a typical anime thing. Journey of life and all.
But yeah, great anime. Hate the english voicing though >_>

I loved FLCL. Awesome anime.
While I did enjoy the humor in it, the thing that really set it apart was that it had a message (a trend with Gainax).
My personal favorite episode was number 6. I loved the whole fight between Haruko and Naota (Ta-Kun)/Atomsk.

FLCL's great. Other than the guy running the show worked on EVA, I don't think the two really have anything in common.

I think I missed the message somewhere in the insanity...was it something like, take control of your life?

I think I missed the message somewhere in the insanity...was it something like, take control of your life? O.o I got don't try to act above your age. Live life to its fullest when you're younger, don't try to take respondsibility on to yourself when you're younger. A kid is a kid and nothing more. As outlined by: mabase.agefive.com/html/f_a_q_.htmlBut I'm sure there are plenty of messages in it, not just one.

FLCL's message is basically that of the journey of life really.
Being true to yourself and standing up. The eending where he scales the rubble and stands up with the guitar is truly symbolic.
The guitars as weapons have meaning to them too. You just have to know what to look for in any movie/anime/show.
