Been playing Zoids Legacy and I can't understand why the designers felt it necessary to have so many pilots to choose from.
I've got about 40 pilots crammed into my carrier Zoid, and I only use six of them. Some characters, like Fiona and the Tigers Team, are useless because they're such terrible combatants.
To me, the deciding factor is whether or not the pilot can fire twice in a round. So far, only Zeru, Juno, and Leena possess this quality. The other pilots don't seem to have an impact on the battle unless they suffer from some kind of penalty.
Anyone have a different approach to this? A favorite team setup?

Wait till you get Juno's wish and Fiona's wish. Coupled with ZOS, there's no reason not to use Zell after that. You hae to give up Juno but considering the bonsues I think it's worth it.

Keep in mind that most pilots have Zoids that they are good at. For example, put the Tigers Team into tiger type Zoids and they an gain up to 20 levels (I think..., at least 10).
But yeah..., you can easily get by without using most of them.

But Tiger Zoids don't pack as much punch as the other Zoids I use. Even low-level characters can usually mop up an enemy unit in one turn if you trip out the Zoid's weaponry enough. I think the creators put too much emphasis on Zoids power and not enough on pilot skills and creating pilot rotations within the story.

The game? Yeah, Legacy/Saga II have Blitz and Diablo Tiger.
I think it was hard enough focusing on the Zoids only. I mean, there are alot of Zoids, and the pilot have their own custom stats, and you can change the type of their "growth". Which is fine with me.

Stupey me...
Blitz Tiger is one of those "Unknown" types. Someone's gonna have to test out Blitz Tiger with someone (Mainly Kirkland) from Team Tigers. >.>;
While Diablo Tiger is a Tiger Type, so Team Tigers gets a big bonus while piloting those.

No, I mean if Team Tigers members get a bonus piloting them... Well, the Tigers Team members also have effects that decrease their accuracy and strength. It's a tough trade-off.

Basicly, go through everyone's growth, and set it to what works best for you. I focus myself in speed and evades, so heavy zoids will handle like mediums and lights will be too fast. With this I'm thinkin 2 slow sentries up front and an all out offence in the back. If you look at Legacy carefully, it involves lotta thought, and Ill pick up on that when some ppl here actually get it, so we can battle.
