I know this has been something fandom has long thought didn't exist, but it seems like it very much did. An ADR studio and a handful of voice actors have all listed their involvement with an English dub of the show. Cartoon Network Asia began airing the show on October 8, 2007. The problem is that as far as I can tell, there's no home video release and no one managed to cap the TV run. Viz's license to all of the Zoids anime should've expired years ago, so this is in a no-mans land. Maybe if a company like Discotek wants to take a swing one day ...

This has always been a bizarre topic~ The trailer has always been known, since talk of a dub first began. Back when Toonami Jetstream was supposedly going to carry Zoids Genesis. Perhaps it did, apparently in the Philippines and Singapore. Its always been so unusual that there isn't a shred of evidence outside of someone's word or old posts. Actors being on the project has little to do with whether or not it actually aired, since quite often, series or product lines can get axed regardless of how much work has already gone into it. The question isn't if it existed, it's if it aired on tv. Even so, there's a decent number of people who apparently saw this broadcast. There were no recordings, clips, etc. No substantial proof was ever posted online. However, it's easy to forget that recording software wasn't so easily available back then. At least not to the same extent as today, where you can record literally anything, anywhere, at any time. We know it existed in some context, we just have no idea if it ever completed, or successfully aired the whole series, etc. Many people doubt that it broadcast anywhere. This is a really interesting read by Falcarius going over not just Zoids Genesis, but several amazingly unknown sequences that vanished somewhere in time.

Unfortunately, the "no footage" anywhere thing is pretty common for dubs that run exclusively in Asia. Even far newer productions have been limited to show promos. Something from a decade back is likely to have even less. This link is basically a press release from the time. The outlet is based in the Philippines. It would be easy to prove things once and for all with CN Asia's website, but the problem is that at the time, they used Flash. Flash doesn't archive well and thus this time period is a blind spot for the Internet Archive.

That is fascinating indeed. I don't think many people would know it, either. A shame they don't at least some kind of video release, but I suppose a lot of shows/movies can hit that snag. Nevermind that using flash has caused a lot of lost information over the years.

Darrel Guilbeau, who voiced Seijuro, recently Tweeted out his support for the show finally getting a western release.

They could always get [adult swim] Toonami to dub it.

Always been curious about Genesis but never got around to watching it. Wonder what prompted the studio's(?) decision to abandon the project. Fuzors bombed but Zero did well, & CC was a cult classic. Would like Genesis to be dubbed & released, or at least aired stateside, but I think we all know the chances of that are pretty slim. The show would be a good fit for Caroon Network but doesn't sound like Adult Swim material...then again AS these days seems mostly to be airing reruns from the old days. Would like to see it nonetheless
