I never knew this, but Kabaya made a red Ultra a long time ago. I have never seen it in person. Could this be what started it all? I have seen the iron kong, and gojulas before. Not the OJR deathsaurer, but the re-make of it I have seen.

Here is a good pic of the iron kong and the gojulas. They could be confused for full sized kits if you have no frame of reference.

The red Ultrasaurus is actually based on an old catalog, but definitely not the Kabaya kit, as cute as it can be! Lionel's site and his epic quest for Ultrasaurus Red explains in much greater detail. It includes (as far as I'm aware) all potential sightings and information.

I managed to find a better picture of the kabaya one, and now I see there are a lot of differences in color. :/

Oh, I have this picture on my hard disk, with plenty others of the Kabaya toys. They could be blue, red, or the both. I never tryed to gather all of them in a single topic, I maybe should... The myth of Ultrasaurus Red began in 1987, when it appeared in the official OER catalog for shops (not in the customers catalog).

Gather away, Lionel! I think Pheno's needs a Red-Tracker thread.

I forgot to post this earlier, but this guy has what seems to be a complete collection of the Kabaya Zoids Gum series, as well as the short-lived Z-Knight Gum series. I wouldn't mind a Gilvy or Orudios, since they have a little bit of story text on their box and manuals, but of course they're horribly expensive...

I have the gungyrados kabaya. It too suffers the same fragile wing issue. Mine has both the wings (s') hangers broken. While I currently see one in ebay missing wings entirely it too is the overly red color scheme. The one I have actually matches the full size one and was bought quite a few decades back. I've yet to find another. Being a huge gunny fanboy, er fanoldfart, I would try n buy another if ever seen. Hell interested in that ebay one if it wasn't missing wings. BTW orudos and gilly currently up for bidding war on japan yahoo. Happy bidding! Bring popcorn for this one!

So where was the popcorn? This early here in central USA more like cereal. Well anyway it's over and the results are in. Darn near 2 bills usa currency. It is going to a good home of a collector who will add it to his massive collection. With a little work these 2 should display great beside thier full size models. Anyone care to venture a guess to whom the winner was?
