EDIT: Transferring some other posts here to indulge my boastful side
Within the last year, I have obtained (what I consider) the entire core Battle Story canon: the Zoids Bible, the OJR Battle Story books, the NJR Official Fan Books, and scans of every Official Fan Book EX volume (thanks to zoids.com.cn and Hanyoutai). I also have the Flash version of the Rebirth Century story on my computer, but I prefer to ignore Rebirth Century when it comes to continuity I also have one more package coming soon, with a rather special addition... *attempts to build suspense*
So. If anyone wants Battle Story information, I can now quote/photograph it directly Full translations will take some time, though - it's been a year since I started typing up the Zoids Bible, and I'm still less than halfway...
Anyway, happy new year, everyone!
EDIT: Here it is
That brings the number of Zoid books I own up to nearly 50, plus a few pamphlets, magazines, videos, games etc. (and of course lots of models). As far as I know, I'm only missing eight proper Japanese Zoid books now (nine once the Zoids SS tankoubon comes out), seven of which I can pick up from Amazon or Yahoo Auctions at any time. So... if anyone can find me a cheap copy of Zoids Battle Comic, I will be eternally grateful! (A cheap copy of the Anime Encyclopedia would also be nice )
My grabs for the last three months (apart from a couple that are still waiting to be shipped)
Highlights include Battle Comic (my second book grail after History of Zoids), the Japanese Fuzors DVDs (the rental versions, but too cheap to pass up), the Chaotic Century soundtracks, a gigantic 2001 calendar, the CoroCoro volumes that contained the New Century manga, and the last volumes of Mark1 and Hobby Japan EX that I needed.
And also, that little pamphlet at the top left with the Zero on it? That was a CoroCoro bonus item that I suspected would be a total waste of money... well, I'm happy to say I was wrong.
More pics of the wild Liger than I've ever seen, including one that shows its Zoid Core. There's also concept sketches for Diloforce, Grounchar, Dragoon Nest and Liger Zero X, and it explains that Zero X was actually based on a fan-submitted design (like Barigator, Cannon Tortoise, Black Rhimos and Battlerover in the OJR era).
My book collection draws near to completion... If I can get the Counterattack of Zenebas walkthrough that's on Yahoo Auctions at the moment, I'll just need the anime Encyclopedia and Invasion of the Dark Army, and then I'll have physical copies or good-quality scans of EVERY SINGLE ZOIDS BOOK (apart from a few of the English manga volumes)...
(Oh, and I also picked up the novelisation of Maou Monogatari Monogatari, which is a cool freeware RPG by the creator of Irisu Syndrome. So much pretty watercolour art...)
My last set of non-model grabs for the year: an obscure LCD game, some obscure CC keychains, a somewhat-obscure DVD and a handful of books. But now that I have those books...
ALL THE BOOKS. ALL OF THEM. I DID IT.
(Okay, so I don't actually have physical copies of the English comics/manga, Battle Card Game Note Map, or Customize Stickers - just good-quality scans from Hanyoutai and bloodforthebaron. I'm also not counting duplicate stuff (e.g. the Encyclopedias from the Blu-Ray boxes), doujins (e.g. Zoids EX), booklets/pamphlets (e.g. Graphics), magazines (e.g. Dengeki Hobby), or stuff that isn't technically Zoids (e.g. the Z-Knight guidebooks). Oh, and there's a "Battle of the Central Continent Power-Up Destruction Book" thatmight be a real book or just a magazine-bonus booklet - I can't tell because I can't find it anywhere apparently is a real book and is insanely rare. But otherwise, as far as I'm aware, I now own every Zoids book! Now to try and find the OJR Graphics...)
EDIT: I forgot the Battle Story colouring-in book (books?), although it barely counts.
I'll be putting the next bit of Command Wolf RGC story here sooner or later, but first, I kinda want to post this before the new year:
