www.zoidspoison.com/zoidstalk/tm.asp?m=80883I don't have an account on a photo hosting site, so I guess I'll just link to my entry. The first pic is a bit dark, but I found that by zooming in, more of the details popped out. Anyway, the Nacht Kaiser is a highly classified, top secret development of the Empire. The standard Fury, rather than being drastically changed, was moreso retooled, the standard buster claws being side mounted in a fixed position. This allows the Kaiser to charge through enemies, inflicting damages as its blades tear through armor. Energy from the CPC can also be focused into the blades, increasing their piercing ability. In addition to this, the side mounted buster claws still contain beam cannons, so if need be, the Kaiser has access to long range weaponry. The final weapon available to the fuhrer is an upgraded CPC. In addition to the standard CPC, the Kaiser can utilize a rapid-fire variant. This alternative version requires little charging, allowing multiple bursts of weaker CPCs.

I like the flat, charcoal colored paint on this custom. MUCH more effective than lavender!

Thanks I used a black base coat and then dry brushed gray for the color.

Please, PLEASE tell me that it was entered into the Paint category by accident. I want to vote on this thing as a modified custom zoid!

Hmm...would it have been better to have entered it under the other category? It seemed to fit best in Category A, so I chose it.

Ultimately, it's your call. Personally, I think they should have left the entire contest open and people could just vote for best paint, design, whatever. In any case, its still great for me just seeing the zoid.

That is one cool piece of work. I always think a good custom is one that doesn't look like one, it just looks like something built out of a box. Yours certainly fits the bill, your modifications are subtle and look completely natural.
I've got to agree with Chuckles - I think ZP should leave it to the voters to decide what to vote for, some customs are seriously modified and beautifully painted.

Thanks for the compliments So before, was there only one winner that was chosen out of all the entries?

That's the baffling part. I'm pretty sure ZP's past contests were all open entry with multiple winners in several categories. The voters just had to mention in which category they were voting for a particular entry.

It's like a double contest... sort of; a paint contest and a build contest. However, an entry that was a fantastic build could also have a fantastic paint job and would "sweep" both prizes.
