Interested, yup.
I'm sure you know what small windup I'd vote for...

I'm going to be asking what stuff is available first...it's weird what windups have gotten scarce these days . It's surprising which small windups have shot up in cost . . . and for no apparent reason. Heck, I've been trying to line up 9 NJR Godos Zoids for my army . . . been trying for 3 years now..... Either way, I'm interested in a chrome Zoid. It'd be my first. Does anyone have a ballpark idea of cost for a small wind-up chrome? It'd be nice to know so I could budget for it now. My contract work is a bit shaky.

I'm not sure yet if I'd be able to afford it(the Great Recession and all) but I'd love to see a vacume chromed zoid, no matter the size. My vote may go for something from the Blox, Neo-Blox, or Legend Blox line(for unexplained reasons, I love the little buggers), or for something reasonably unknown such as the Lider(or Descat, but I won't get my hopes up on the latter) but I'd definately say a site exclusive chromed zoid is a good idea.

Another option would be to get the spare CAS (Not the CP, just the one that came with the kit) from a Liger 0 or X from people who got several LZs.

Hi guys... This is a great way to start the YEAR 2010! With an exclusive bling blings! So far here are the details of the project... with regards to the model type. I could give you the ff only: GULTIGER, KING G, IKSS (but given that we're all tight... I decided to offer Gultiger!) Model type:Chrome Color scheme:Packaging: Custom designed packaging Cost:Or we could lessen it at $$$ if we retain original box? What do you guys think? I need a minimum of 10 orders to sign up so i could push this through at this amount. Kindly post here and email me for queries. I could only ask the local mall officers to hold the stuff for a ltd time given that holiday season is already upon us and the distributor's priority are of course... the kids! Hahaha! ;D So post and confirm as soon as you can so we could get the ball rolling within this week!! Thanks! -Grimm

I was all keen on this until I saw the price tag, it's a hard choice between shiny zoids and eating, but I suppose I'll go with eating. Sorry.

I found a model making resource here in the US that does re-chroming and new chroming for model cars. From what I gathered on his website, he could probably chrome an entire grounchar (now that's ONE color so far) for about $20 (that is a HUGE guess on my part). His method is the standard vacuum electroplating technique used elsewhere.
Now let's assume we could find 10 Grounchars for about $6 a piece then perhaps we could have the kits partially chromed. What I mean is maybe we can have the black, or silver parts chromed (Chroming the silver parts to go with the standard black and clear red parts would look pretty cool). We might be able to get that done for $10?? per silver frame? BUT this is all speculation.
I also haven't had the opportunity to explore the chroming capabilities fully here in the US, so I don't know what it takes to do Color Chroming . . . yet. If I can find time, I will take a look at it more closely.
Would an option like this appeal to us poor, broke, US-based Zoiders?

Im really sorry if this has been a frustrating proposal on your part guys but given the ltd quantity of kits available here (and the new wind ups have a quite insane price tags here)... I have ltd options on this matter. That is why I also accomodated a few trades just to see if my idea was feasible. . But with a range of $10-26 for a Chromed Grounchar? I guess its good. Go for it guys! -Grimm

The Pheno site custom chrome is a killer idea, count me in as long as it dose not shoot past $100. i personally dig the chrome snipe master, but whatever is reasonable & works as well. count me in though! Also, for the whole box situation, i think a whole custom box would be extra $$$ that would not be needed to be spent, maybe we could find like a cool shiny sticker to throw on them that said "Pheno Custom" kind of like the zoid con chromes (if im not mistaken)

@grimm:
There's nothing wrong with your idea of a chromed Gul Tiger. It's a great Zoid.
Aren't there any Vipers, Grounchars, Maccurtis, Saicurtis,or something similar in your area for less than $10? I think those of us on limited budgets were probably thinking in the $40-$50 range. Is that possible where you are?
Had Tilly contacted you to arrange for the pricing and Zoid option for us here at Pheno's? I think there is confusion here regarding that.
Bear in mind, Grimm, that I had only 'ballparked' the pricing for the chroming. And I did say that guess was for ONE color of chrome, and not the multiple colored chromes you guys have produced, which are FABULOUS to look at. That Great Sabre you posted on Zoidspoison is BEAUTIFUL. In a month or two, I'd consider dropping $100 for that Zoid in that color scheme.
Also bear in mind that what I am proposing is a -partially- chromed Zoid. Grounchar's frames are small and I was only considering an estimate for chroming of -one- frame. Not the whole Zoid. And -noboby- here has thought that it was a good idea, so far. I just put it out there for discussion.
There are just too many of us that are under a severe recession crunch in the US right now. Even $50 for one Zoid is a lot of money for me, right now. But I'd love to have one.
