Another quick Q: What is the difference between Gorillatron and Ray Kong (or even Ltd Ray Kong)?

IIRC - Gorillatron was designed by Hasbro, and is a general release. Ray Kong was released by Tomy, and only comes in the Limited/HoloTech variety I think its "limited" to a couple of thousand, not limited to ten on the whole planet. Essentially the same model, but in different colours.
I'm not a fan of the design, but would prefer the Ray Kong HT if I was forced to choose.

Actually, Ray Kong isn't a Holotech at all. The only differnce between the two kits is that Raykong is metalic red where Gorillatron is light red.
That and Raykong usually goes ofr 2-3 times the value of Gorillatron.
The worst part is that, while Raykong includes instructions for fusing it to Energy Liger, Gorilaltron matches the colours better. So, all up, I'd say that Gorillatron is the "better" model of the two.

Dangit, Rick, you beat me to it. (and no, he's not double posting, I zapped me saying the same thing he did :p.)
(edit) Me saying the same thing I did? Um...don't ask me how I typed that. I don't know.

Okay so apart from the different reds, is the colour-up effect on the core blox any different? As in, will both light up in red or ??

hmn.. seems like raykong just might match with my energy liger (tomy)
but i never did like the energy ray liger fusion.. looks stupid..
gotta get me one of these even if just for the pleasure of owning a limited.

The Raykong is a much loathed critter where I am. While I don't see one at all locally, it will fetch about twice the price of the regular Gorillatron, which we have on retail...
I think apart from the box, there's nothing else that justifies the increase in price. I would however get one just to complete the HT set. Now awaiting the arrival of my Command Wolf HT and then I can go get my Leostriker HT and this Raykong dude.

I don't like or buy Ligers, so that isn't a factor for me. That comparison shot above has me wondering which one to get now though. I'll probably end up buying both at some stage. Not exactly a classic design, but certainly interesting.

Darnit. Guess I was confusing RayKong with the HT Command Wolf and LeoStriker, which were released about the same time. Still think ray Kong's dark red looks better.

Can someone check if the Ray Kong's red/magenta colors match well with the ultimate seismo?

Charlie, you referring to which Ultimate Seismo? NJR version or Fuzors/Hasbro version (black Seismo)?
The darker red of the RayKong would be nice on the NJR version, the brighter red of Gorillatron on the Fuzors/Hasbro version.

I was referring to the Fuzors version.
Now that you mention it, the Hasbro Gorilla Tron colors may actually match the hasbro seismo release better.
