You guys are never happy, you piss and moan like little babies about every SRDX figure and then they finally drop the SRDX line in favor of this line with NORMAL sized breasts <snip> So basically you all find the female body so offensive that you really just want PVC figures of them wearing big bulky winter clothes, am I right? I mean come on!! Personally I think these are great and plan to buy all of them. No, you are not right. At least for me, it's not about finding the female body at all offensive. I do find the objectification of the female body somewhat offensive, but as you've said before, misogyny is an established part of anime culture, so we have little choice but to accept it. I feel that the swimsuit models are often fairly tacky. Sometimes tacky can be fun. However, I think it's a real shame that we're seeing swimsuit figures instead of clothed figures, because the standard of the costume design in Zoids is so high. Like I said, it would be great to get a casual Naomi. Expanses of flesh are better than nothing (though Re-Mii looks young, and it verging on unsavoury), but I would prefer figurines that celebrated the costume designs. Not winter clothes. The costumes from the anime. Some of which are quite hot in their own right, like Kotona's.

Looking at Kotona's, you gotta wonder who wears hamstring-high boots to swim...

I always noticed that though her boots go a little bit higher.... That was the origin of Kotona's swimsuit I think. Appeared in a Japanese magazine of some sort then exploded in popularity for reasons that go beyond my comprehension.

...I wouldn't recommend swimming while Lanstag and Murasame Liger are frolicking about in the water, she might get hurt.

Eh, I certainly aint pissin and moaning here! My problem with the SRDX figures has always been the fact that they have been very un true to the ainme in proportions. Im talking whole body, not just breasts. Mariee Champ comes to mind specificaly. That figure looks more like some deformed three headed monster than harry's sister. These ones look extremly anime, so im all for em and have ordered a couple o cases.

But I can only find one thing wrong with them..that same odd little smile they all share. That odd little smile scares me when they have a knife or gun in their hand

Colodie, thanks for the link. I never knew Moonbay/Minbay would look so much sexier in this range. Kotona's swimsuit is almost.. not there. I should notify my local folks about this.

I don't like characters as sex objects, period, and I don't care if it's typical for anime...you can bet I'd gripe about scantily clad male Zoids characters too, unlike a good number of girls who complain about the Yujin figures :p. This counts for TV too...I still say Seven of Nine looked better in a regular uniform. *mutters about them not keeping it*
And like ARowse said, Zoids has some neat costume designs, it's no fun if the figures don't too. I just don't buy human figures in general because THEY STARE AT ME and it's creepy. Little pilot figures are an exception, I'd *love* to see more of those.

The giant bubbley breasts don't bother me much on their own. I'd rather see boobs jammed full of silicon that old shrively dangly ones . They only annoying part is that the figures are so horribly homogenous with 90% of all anime girl sculpts. Plentiful silky skin, flowing hair and vixenesque lead-on poses (tugging on undies, bending over ect) has been done to death and dragged through the mud a hundred times over. The regular mechanized models are so distinctive and special, that it it feels like a bit of letdown to omit the neat costumes that match the characters' aesthetic appeal to their Zoids (like Arowse mentioned). Of course though, this style of treament is given to just about every anime series in exsistence.. so what's new, I suppose. It's like some sort of bizzare japanese anime initiation - you know you've hit it big when you get to do the bathingsuits. I'm hoping that now they've gotten this part out of the way, they'll go back for the 2nd or 3rd series and service the regular fans.

Great. The only one not in some very distressing looking bikini (I mean... ludicrously udnersized on an underaged chracter) is Sweet... who gets the skankiest pose. Blaugh.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a male and I like babes. BUT I jsut don't enjoy the "blatant sexing up" thing. Its rather "seen it" and, given the ages of those chracters) somewhat tasteless.
Frankly, I'm far from impressed.

I never got the point of these figures. Sure you get to own a figure of a sexy zoid pilot, and I will admit I do like Naomi and Moonbay, but I just spent 80 bucks on some Marvel Figures that I think will be much happier in my collection than these.
So uh.. more for you guys.

nyan. HLJ is no longer accepting additional preorders. No biggie, really, I just want the Celica one anyways, so I can wait on those. Now if only they'd make the other characters into these kinda figures, that'd be awesome. I'd love to get a pair of properly porportioned Tasker sisters, or Naomi in that red and black outfit. I'd really like to see the Versus girls available, to be honest. little Tita and Claudia figures would kick, and Leviathe has a cool outfit.

Appeared in a Japanese magazine of some sort then exploded in popularity for reasons that go beyond my comprehension. Seriously? The reasons are beyond your comprehension? So.....it's too difficult to comprehend why a very sexy swimsuit on a very sexy character would become popular among fans? I mean come on! This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. You guys say stuff like this and you sound as if you're afraid of sexy women or something, or maybe it's that you don't understand them or you're intimidated by them. Either way to make a comment like that is absurd, of course you know why it became popular. -Pheno

You must admit, it's pretty mind-boggling as to how she goes about swimming in it though.

I agree, it is a rather strange choice for a swimsuit but it's still sexy as hell IMO. Here's the deal guys, you all know I can be a jerk sometimes, and you all know I love to argue, hate to admit I'm wrong, and will stop at nothing to try and make other see things my way. So, as someone who's very sexually free and is in a serious relationship with someone who's very sexually free it's easy for me to admit that I think these figures and drawings are hot. It's very hard for me to understand any straight guy on this forum not thinking these figures are hot but obviously not everyone is me so I have to say that while I don't understand why you guys don't think these figures are hot you're entitled to your opinions just as much as I am so I won't have anything else to say on the matter. Now, back to the discussion of the actual figures. -Pheno
