Ooh, Yurei gots SERVED. ::sizzle:: Dint get served by me. Just clarifying my position since it was originally phrased poorly. I love that Magic can be played effectively without spending an obscene amount of money, even if it does mean limiting your access to some strategies. I don't believe that very many people would be able to cap their spending at $60 indefinitely though - expansions are too tempting.

No figures will be coming with the cards, it was the other way around where a Shield Liger card comes with Hayate Liger SE.
Didn't know this was old...TOMY only posted a link on the 15th so I thought there was something new going on, hence why I did the report and such...

dude, what the fark are you talking about? Magic as far as CCGs/TCGs is ana wesome game because it's soa ffordbale, unlike yugioh and others where it takes a good deal of investment money to buy decent cards (which in yugioh are almost always rare although i'm told that's changing) Magic you can drop at most $60 for a good deck compared to the hundreds it costs for yugioh yeah , magic cards are staying as they are affordable . I spent a bomb on yu-gi-oh cards , collected about 30 Blue Eyes White Dragon and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon , Master of Dragon Knight , Toon Blue Eyes , Blue Eyes Shining Dragon. And no one wants them for 220 bucks!

Nice... Hey, what is with that "CAUTION stay clear of control surfaces when any hydraulic system is pressurized" thing? I see it on stickers a lot, like it's stalking me. A control surface is basicaly, something that manipulates the movement of something ... When the hydraulic system is activated, it means that it's gonna push the control surfaces (a moving part) around, with little regards to fleshy bits. Dunno why it would be on a land zoid, though. Well.. see those joints, servos, hatches, turrets... anything that controls or regulates movement? That's why those warnings are located on land Zoids. There are also a lot of "Warning! Static Discharge Vent" or whatever they say, for the same reason... no need to get the *STEAMING WET, VILE SMELLING, FRESH HUMAN FECAL MATTER SMEARED ALL OVER OPEN PUSS DRIPPING GANGRENEOUS WOUNDS is not a kewlziez naughty word that is unreasonably censored!* shocked out of you from a power surge... Being in the military, you learn the reasons for those warnings being on a heavy chunk of danger, and there are real reasons to have them. If you're not following safety procedures, or are careless... not good. Stay alert, stay alive.

I'm more wondering why those same couple warnings seem to show up over and over and not any other sensible ones...well, it's likely just copy-pasted text. But why *that* text?
I think I've seen some other "warning" things where the text was actually gibberish.
And who's been mucking with the word censor?

I think I've seen some other "warning" things where the text was actually gibberish. And who's been mucking with the word censor? Those are pretty good ones to have, I'd think, going off what I'd worry about around them. I mean, there are only so many things to warn about, and you can only see a certain size of text at 1/72. I mean, the tire pressure minimums that get stenciled on military vehicles aren't generally more than an inch tall. Yeah, there are some that are kinda gibberishy, but I have a hard time reading most of that text using some pretty high magnification anyways. XD Oh, and the censor isn't mucked with at all. Nothing was written that is on the text censor. I guess that shows how pointless the act of censoring proper words is, even if they are vulgar. Particularly with a mockingly derisive, and judgemental show. *shrugs* Is 5hit's replacement text "Oops! I tried to use a kewlzies naughty word in a kewlzies childishly way to look even more kelwzies and got three strikes!"? To edit, apparently while 1337 vulgarity is okay, proper vulgarity is not. Maybe have the decency to make a topic regarding why this forum's policy is to censor proper words that are not used in an offensive, hostile, or discriminatory manner, list what words are censored, and what the replacement text for them is. That way I can make fully informed decisions, rather than being far more insulted by the act of the censorship, as well as the tone it takes than the word that was censored would have ever insulted anyone else. It's called god-damn common courtesy.

Preview button? Right. The site should make me need to post defensively instead of being responsible and posting a clear and coherent policy regarding why they randomly censor in an improfessional and insulting manner. Brilliant solution, thanks for the input.

The site should make me need to post defensively instead of being responsible and posting a clear and coherent policy regarding why they randomly censor in an improfessional and insulting manner. Brilliant solution, thanks for the input. Don't get me wrong, I find the censormatic rather frustrating at times, especially when it is (IMO) misused to do word replacements on trivial terms like 'lu.mp'. That said, it isn't a bad idea to embarrass people who use terms that the majority find offensive, so the concept of replacing naughty words with things like *my mum says I am teh kewlzies* appeals to me. It only (potentially) becomes a problem when non-naughty words (or only moderately naughty words, like 'knickers') get lumped together with the vulgar things normal people don't need to read. For the record, I don't think the s-word is appropriate for a forum with no age requirements. We are talking about zoids, not gangster rap. Was that last bit sarcasm? If so it's a little unfair. The preview button is a solution I use.

I meant someone had changed the word censor at the admin level, not that you'd changed your post, Celeb, as I'm sure it didn't say that before.
I find that replacement more offensive than the original word, myself. Things like "ooh, I can use kewlzies swear words" are good, that isn't.

The preview button is a solution I use. Firstly, there IS age requirement, or parental consent to use this forum: www.proboards.com/tos.htmlProBoards.com (the "Provider") is providing a service to individuals (the "User") who are at least 18 years old or minors 13 years old and above who have parental permission. Relating to the censorship: Your web site must conform to the following standards to be eligible to utilize this service: User's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity. The "S" word as used was NOT profanity. Look at what defines a word. Main Entry: profane 1 : to treat with abuse, irreverence, or contempt 2 : to debase by a wrong, unworthy, or vulgar use Main Entry: *Watch your language!* 1 usually vulgar : EXCREMENT 6 usually vulgar : a worthless, offensive, or detestable person Main Entry: vulgar 3 a : of or relating to the common people 4 a : lacking in cultivation, perception, or taste : COARSE b : morally crude, undeveloped, or unregenerate : GROSS c : ostentatious or excessive in expenditure or display : PRETENTIOUS 5 a : offensive in language : EARTHY b : lewdly or profanely indecent synonym see COMMON, COARSE It's okay for the site to censor in an offensive and rude manner, but not to use a vulgar word? Wow.

I find that replacement more offensive than the original word, myself. Things like "ooh, I can use kewlzies swear words" are good, that isn't. Tilly, I *DID* intentionally edit my post. And you are certainly correct that I was far more offensive, and graphic in my replacement text. The censorship is a joke. s...hit is censored, while someone could certainly be far more crudely graphic and offensive without censorship (while staying WITHIN Proboard's TOS). To mock someone without warning for use of proper grammar and context is NOT good. As a matter of fact, that would be profanity... even without swearing. That would be a violation of the Proboards TOS that would get the forums shut down for using a policy that promotes profanity. The censorship is being applied in a manner that is causing far more harm than it could protect. Face the fact. I am freaking PISSED off. I'm not a 11 year old kid giggling as I say the word, I am a 31 year old veteran of two wars using the English language properly, if potentially in a less than glowingly polite and prim sense for a strike of appropriate humor in that context.

The s-word is considered offensive by some people, and not by others. The first syllable of 'japanese' is considered offensive by some but not others. (I consider neither offensive, but avoid using them to avoid people taking offense where none is meant.)
Is it such a big deal to use other words that are more socially acceptable? Crap, for instance, should be able to convey the vast majority of what you mean to convey with the s-word.
The swear filter is generally considered to be a first line of defence. If somebody circumvents the filter with leet, cleverness, or simply being vulgar in an inventive way, the mods are there to edit, delete or ban as appropriate.
Valid point about the age restriction. Whoops!
Does proboards offer a facility where it could warn people that their post has triggered the swear filter when they try to submit? Would that be adequate as a pre-mock warning?

Whoops! Does proboards offer a facility where it could warn people that their post has triggered the swear filter when they try to submit? Would that be adequate as a pre-mock warning? You have got to be totally full of it. What if I find CRAP more offensive? Why does the filter setting need to alter a post message in a MOCKING AND BELITTLING way in the first place? Look at that post with the definitions. It censored a dictionary entry while making the poster potentially feel really bad, harrassed, offended, and oh, I could go on. That's a hostile environment. How about using the filter replacements RIGHT if you use them at all. There are a bunch of less "offensive" words you could enter that are in my post above of the definitions, or maybe just use crap. Your thinking amazes me. It blows my mind. Attacking someone and treating them with abuse, irreverence, or contempt by debasing them with a wrong and unworthy characterization of what they posted? That's profanity. That's what would get a board shut down. That's what would take all these posts, all this info, and all this work and toss it into the garbage. That gives a lot of incentive to contribute time, effort, and dedication to expanding the content of a site, I am sure.
