A bit more info on the Genesis DVD box sets and what comes with them: www.amenbo.com/cgi-bin/list/toys/zoids/new1-e.cgiBox 1 comes with a holotech Murasame, boxes 2 and 3 will come with other ltd zoids, and if you clip coupons from all three box sets then you can purchase a fourth ltd edition zoid.

It's not fair. The series I'm least likely to buy gets a holotech Liger as a bonus, and the two I want most are stuck three to a DVD . *mutters, consoles self with TARDIS-y box set in December*

don't you just love how that works? I really hate the fact that it'll be region coding 2, and if we ever actually get genesis overhere and the DVDs, we most certainly won't get the LTDs... hmm, time to buy a Japanese DVD player anyone? Oh and a current converter too >_>;

My DVD player plays Japanese stuff (and apparently UK, though I need to properly test it) and I got it cheap at Target...if you want, I can get the model number. I have no idea if it's still available, though.
My parents', on the other hand, only likes region 1 NTSC...which means people will want to steal mine for the Doctor Who in December x_X.

hmm, time to buy a Japanese DVD player anyone? Oh and a current converter too >_>; Aren't you in the US? Japan and US both use 110V, IIRC. It's those of us in the antipodes and Europe that are stuck on 240V. Interestingly, it is technically illegal to sell a region locked DVD player in Australia, because it infringes on consumer choice. Nifty.

Is it just me, or does that seem ludicrously overpriced? how many DVDs are there in the set?

Four. Japanese Zoids DVDs are around 5800 yen, which makes /Zero and Fuzors an absolute ripoff, even with amenbo's money off.
If only they gave points back, though...

No idea. It's not an import thing, it's list price.
Japanese DVDs as a whole seem to be a lot more expensive, and their CDs a bit more pricy too. I've often wondered why myself...is it something I'm missing? Related to the fact it's an island, or some tax sort of thing?

Aren't these DVD's going to be in Japanese? On the point of zoning though, most DVD players are locked to the zone you bought them in but with a little code you can change the zone or multizone them, if your interested I know a site that has all the codes.

it's probably illegal though and hence can't be posted here. but yeah, it'll be japanese language just like we're watching now. I wish so bad they made sub tracks on the english zone 1 DVDs but it's only dub. grrr.... and we should look into researching why they cost so dang much. o-o

hmm, time to buy a Japanese DVD player anyone? Oh and a current converter too >_>; Or get a DVD region unlocking program for your PC for about $40 and watch them on there. A far cheaper option.

only if your computer has a DVD drive in it mine doesn't Is this the work computer? Most people have a DVD drive standard by now, plus it's hitting rock bottom prices.
