Proper comments when I've had a chance to fully read through the fluff, but first impressions: iceblazer's Gremlin: The thing that strikes me about this one is that it looks like it could transform into a rocket by tucking the legs back and the guns forwards. The contours seem like they are able to all collapse together to make for a crazily streamlined zoid - it actually looks like it would make quite a good zoid for spaceflight! Lionel's Armored Tank: I love Tank! It always struck me as such a comically designed zoid, and I think you've kept that quirky feeling while making it look a whole hell of a lot faster. And as expected from Lionel, the pieces and paintjob make the zoid look more like an OER zoid than most *actual* OER zoids do! Charlie's Bobcat: I admit it - I'm a sucker for things that bud off smaller things, so the detachable glider/uncomfortable jet is just neat. The paint job as fantastic as well - it gleams. And it looks fast. Jaxom's PfeilCat: This is a fantastic example of how to add oversized bits to a small zoid *without* making it look bulky. It just seems to flow, in ways that zoids like Leostriker failed to manage. The Pilot logo on the side is an extremely nice touch, and accentuates an already stellar paint job. Kaelin's Hello! Führer: To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the colour choice here, because it makes the zoid seem like a joke entry - and to an extent masks the fact that there are actually some extremely clever additions. The backpack assembly looks totally authentic, and the contours on the Happy Sunshine Sparkle Flowers completely fit the concept behind them. bluedemon's Racing Mecha Chocobo: I am completely blown away with how much this looks like a Chocobo! The armour is fantastic, and the painting is phenomenal. It immediately summons to mind the chocobos from Final Fantasy Tactics. I hate those guys and their freaking heal spells. KAndrw's Anansi's Chariot: The story only works if you read the Marvel comics! The mechanism is now working a little better after a large quantity of CRC - I'll shoot some video when I get a chance, though perhaps it would be appropriate to wait until after the contest ends. Gojulas Omega's Tornado Viper: This makes me immediately think of how the red zoids all had detachable cockpits that could fly around independantly. It looks like the Viper can do that as well, but its detachable head would be able to fly around faster, and possibly blow stuff up! The booster tanks are extremely nice - the jaunty angles just serve to accentuate the way they draw the eye. The curved tail photo is my favourite, and I'd like to see a higher res version, please? Rantinan's Smythe Arms Top Fuel Sinker 1337: Lights! Stripped gears! What more could a person ask for? The thing I like most about this entry is that it looks so muscular! It makes me think of olympic swimmers doing butterfly, except bluer, shinier, and with big boosters. And of course, it's always interesting to get another episode of the Smythe-Jones soap opera Zed's Hammer Strike: The colours are great, and the detailing is subtle but effective. I like the concept of the leaping gorilla racer, and the Odin targeter really fits onto the zoid nicely. I like to see a clearer shot from behind with the boosters open. And it looks like your fighting with Paint paid off, because the pilot picture is very smooth! It reminds me of Centurions

Just wanted to add a few details on the Hammer Strike. Tilly - please delete this if its not allowed. Pilot: Konstantyn "Konner" St.Croix His hair is naturally purple, though the silver streak is bleached. The Hammer Strike is actually painted to match St.Croix not the other way round. Hammer Strike Details: Clockwise: Back Blox mount for XS:12 Booster System, Head mounted Odin Targeting Systems, Right Arm Dubble Bubble Rifle, Left Arm Hell Strike Array. Centre: Right shoulder Blox and heat exhaust vent. zed

(Double posting rather than modifying because this *needs* to be its own message!)
An absolutely MASSIVE thanks to Tilly for organising this all and doing the work to present our entries so nicely. It would be a huge undertaking for a non-sick person who was getting sufficient sleep, so the fact that you've done such a great job *without* those advantages is really appreciated!

just my comments on the entries: gremlin: i like the paint on this one.. but i still think the yellow on the head blade could have been better... also i would have been pleased with more than just the addition of cwolf smokestacks for the custumisation.. armored tank: VERY VERY OLDSKOOL!~ i love it... bobcat: finally i see the other helcat in the competition... paint is awesome.. and the addons are pretty cool... altho i fail to see the sense in the glider.jet/thyngy... Pfeilcat: YEs.. i know the name sounds like FAILCAT... but pfeil means arrow in german.. so meh.. some more name trivia.. FILIBUSTER IZHMO's name is taken from the book El filibusterismo by the phils national hero.. the same goes for his stallion NOLIME and the manager METANH GERRE with those 2 name combined you comeup with Noli me Tangere.. i guess i could have improved on the articulation instead of my basic articulation for helcats.. i wish i was able to finish my pilot figue.. *dammit. old legos are a pain to paint.. HelloFuhrer: ITS PINK!! whats not to love... the smooth paint, the great addons make this a really nice zoid.. Racing Mecha Chocobo: OMFGBBQ... I almost wet myself from the awesomeness of this thing.. the detail.. the poseability.. the paint.. its freakin perfect.. I never thought a rainbowjerk with buster eagle parts can be made to look so good. Anansi's Chariot: quiecky little critter.. but the battle story intrigues me so much.. and its REMOTE FREAKIN CONTROLLED.. greatness~ Tornado viper: gundam parts slapped onto a zoid: a big no... BU,.. gundam parts integrated into a zoid like this is a BIG HELL YEAH!~ great work.. the detail, the new head.. the booster.. perfection. Top fuel sinker: the paint on this kicks arse... blue and silver = ZOOOOM~ nice electronics but i wish the wires were hidden.. great concept and execution.. Hammer Strike: very very very nice detailing... smooth integration of parts... great paint.. but i preff my racing zoids without weapons.. thnx. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- kudos to miss tilly for putting this whole thing together... Ill be mailing you a boxfull of money and shiny things very soon.. hehhe

Pfeilcat: YEs.. i know the name sounds like FAILCAT... but pfeil means arrow in german.. so meh.. For the record, the 'p' is not silent in german, and 'ei' is pronounced the same as the english 'eye', so is sounds more like: "p-file-cat" (running the 'p' and the 'file' together as much as possible). I think it's a perfect name

Charlie's Bobcat: I admit it - I'm a sucker for things that bud off smaller things, so the detachable glider/uncomfortable jet is just neat. altho i fail to see the sense in the glider.jet/thyngy... I thought the custom was a bit overweight with excess armor, so I toyed with the idea that it would blow out the rest, place the jets on top of the original helcat headpiece but it just looked like a flying head. I may have to modify the custom at a later date. Also, I have more stories here: phen0type.proboards47.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Fics&thread=1185980541

well what a contest, i never expected much entries, but this is awesome. As to what i really want to say is some of these entries are off the hook, some have great detailing and paint job is 20 of 10. I must say though some entries kinda of didn't get the racing point and some had it, killed it with weapons. To tell the truth i was expecting all to be sinkers, but then again my entry was suppose to be a sinker custom and i had all the boosters i needed tsk tsk " i still haven't got my sinker yet from robozone through ebay. damn i am so pissed off. i knew it i should have stick with bill jedi. Anyways i didn't really take the time to look over em well but i have already got my choices. great job to all, i wish the best to all.
And now to sit in the corner of my room and cry until i get over it. DAMN U ROBOZONE.
sorry about that.

Hehe... thanks, Zed! Of course it's a total joke, but afterward I realized I should have made one! Anyway, here is my take on the REAL entrants:
iceblazer's Gremlin Pilot: Captain Swanson I like the way you used the racing theme but didn’t abandon the military theme (what can I say? The war must go on!) The extra boosters are a welcome addition but a rear picture would have been good. Choice of colors is interesting but doesn’t scream “race!” to me. I do like the Photoshop-fu pic! As you know, I’m a fan of Photo-fu!
Lionel's Armored Tank Pilot: Zaar A really nice example of what the tank might look like as an NER Zoid! (Of course, being from the states, that’s like customizing a limited!) Very clean (a Lionel staple) and you also managed to stay with both the racing and battle themes. Love the use of the Gojulas foot armor! (Do you have a spare tail? PM me!) “It’s low and fast and won’t retreat, it’s a new tank Zoid that can’t be beat!” (ah, the old box jargon….)
Charlie’s Bobcat Pilot: Betsy Great build; very sleek, with great proportions and a very good selection of colors. Detachable glider; really cool. Always thought the ‘Cat was too lightly armed, and at least should have claws! Very nice that you included full Zoid stats, and a bonus for the complete story, too.
Jaxom's PfeilCat Pilot: Filibuster "Flip" Izhmo Another great kitty; PfeilCat looks powerful and certainly built to race. The folding boosters work very well and the proportions are believable. I would be tempted toward a slightly racier blue, but the scheme is undeniably racy. Full stats for both pilot and machine are a plus. Again, a rear shot would be great with those boosters. Nice flexibility, too.
Kaelin's Hello! Führer Pilot: Stephanie Marie Blaze-Taylor Okay… I just CAN’T not like this one! Hello! doesn’t take itself too seriously, but the design is actually really good. And pink. The colors look good, though there are places where the paint is obviously thin (when I use spray paint it’s always too thick!) The boosters look great, both on the arms and on the backpack. Zoid stats and pilot stats are, once again, a plus in my book. I like the extra photos in the link; for me, many pictures are helpful. I like that you included Stephanie’s picture. I can see an evil twin of this Zoid with “Happy Sunshine Sparkle Busters” to rip open enemies with big, happy smiles!
bluedemon's Racing Mecha Chocobo Pilot: Matt Gotta hand it you you, your forms are well executed and your airbrush hand is steady. Good eye… you and the bird! The removable armor is excellent, as is the undeniable form of the Chocobo. Visited your more pics page to get a better look… nice poses, too. A very worthy build, my friend. Bet you had a good time seeing this one come together! I also like that you added the sponsors pic and made a whole set of stats for him and the Chocobo.
KAndrw's Anansi's Chariot Pilot: Adjua, of the Kojo tribe There are actually a lot of little touches that I like, one being the roll cage in place of the cockpit glass. That you devised a way to make it move in a unique way is cool. The paint… certainly looks offroad. The story is very well written (okay, it actually surprised me how well written!) I like that you had fun with this one!
Gojulas Omega's Tornado Viper Main Pilot: Flame (male) Support Pilot: Hinagiku (Female) This is a sleek entry. It looks entirely Zoidy and fast. The boosters are in very good proportion and the colors work well as an ex-military machine turned racer. The two pilot concept is a good one and the story is also good. I like the Photochopped pic, of course, but overall the style is great. Again, full stats for the Zoid are a plus.
Rantinan's Smythe Arms Top Fuel Sinker 1337 Pilot: Rainbow Smythe-Jones This is a sleek looking Zoid, and the blazing engine nozzles add to the dragster feel. The colors are very racy, and it maintains the look of menace from the Sinker… the inverted “W” form looks very cool. I like the tongue-in-cheek story as well (a continuation, perchance?) Your description of the build tells all that there is more effort going into its construction than is apparent at a glance… something I’ve begun to take a keen interest in. Great entry!
Zed's Hammer Strike Pilot: Konstantyn "Konner" St.Croix Lemme start by saying, I’ve been trying to buy a set of those boosters for two years!!!! Ehem. The build is beautiful; the quality and the paint. The boosters (ARGH!!!) look very good, as if they were build specifically for the Zoid. Full stats and story on the machine and on the pilot show a deep level of creativity to me. Viewed the extra pics to drink in the details. A lot of thought, skill and style went into this Zoid. Very well done.

Yes maethius, a continuation. I did not provide a pilot specific bio because I've already provided several of her. In fact for me the hardest thing about the competiton was putting the story together in the minimum word count. It seems I can't give up Rainbow, Leanne, Morris and Petuna, even if I do make the zoid not pink.
