Hi guys,
New here so please be gentle.
I was a huge fan of the old Marvel UK comic back in the eighties but forgot about it till recently until I came across the scan of the page from the cancelled monthly and then emailed Richard Starkings who kindly sent me the first twelve pages - which stop mid-scene!!!!
So, I've heard rumours that Steve Yeowell pencilled the whole of issue one and that Morrison had scripted three issues of the monthly. Is there anyone out there (on here!) who has anymore snippets of what might've been coming - there were an awful lot of threads left hanging when the weekly wound up such as the arrival of the mercenaries, the strange "game player" aliens, Redhorn reclaiming his leadership, Drew losing his memory. Nearly twenty years and it's still bugging me!
Cheers for any info guys.

We don't know more. There was the 12 inked pages that everybody saw, but after, nothing. Maybe there are some drafts somewhere, but if one day someone can find them...

Shame I've been trying to get a contact for Steve Yeowell but without success - although I do have a contact who says he occasionally attends various comic-cons and if he ever runs into him will ask if he's still got the pencils for the rest of issue one (if he did them). I've also emailed Morrison through his website - no reply, but understandable really as he's a busy man and probably doesn't need pestering about a twenty year old comic strip.

It's funny re-reading the issue with the game-playing aliens after reading through The Invisibles—the former is clearly proto-Invisibles (and also along the lines of Morrison's Animal Man), with the whole game within a scenario way of thinking. I suspect that would have been one of the main arcs, along with Sclater's [sp?] crew 'replenishing' the fallen from the Celeste, thereby upping the potential body count for future issues. The new toy line was also on its way, and so perhaps the fallen Mammoth would have been rebuilt as Ultrasaurus. We certainly saw several of the new Blues in the factory towards the end of the original run (including Zore and Zillon).

Yeah, Scavenger rebuilding Mammoth as Ultrasaurus is probably what would have happened, but imagine if he'd used the remains of the Silverman MX-30 Supervoc for the android pilot...!!
I gotta read the Invisibles now, huh?

It's been SOOOOOOOOOOOOO long since i actually read the Spiderman & Zoids that i actually can't remember much.
I know that there was a new set of Reds out just as the title went under (Znake, Scarab and Helcat), i seem to recall that Kraak had ideas for them in his army. I also remember that RATS had just been out (made by tomy to fight off alien invaders from Earth and using the same scale and pilots as zoids)... that wasn't mentioned but it seemed as if the whole Alien Movie idea of catching a Zoid and using it for the military ploy was in action.
could have been interesting.

If I recall a couple of years ago IDW comics were discussing re-printing the UK story, maybe enough oof us could convince them to produce new material?

Hi, sketches of the remainder of the first edition of Zoids Monthly have been published on Twitter by Richard Starkings, who did the lettering on the abruptly cancelled comic. I've added links and further details in this thread.
