No Gordos? Awww...I like them too. They're all stompy and fun.
Well, at least there's Redlers. Someday, maybe I'll manage to get a Game Cube. Preferrably Japanese, since I want to see characters, blast it. I wonder if there'd then be a way to play US games...

Buster Eagle is definitely in it, and if you don't have it available at the beginning you can get hold of it by completing mission mode I believe. In order to get Liger Zero Jet Falcon you have to get an overall mission mode ranking of S ( the best ). It appears they don't like averages though! This means -every- mission has to be S ranked. I finally managed to do it, after much muttering but ow! ( edited here. I originally said "Liger Zero Phoenix" not Jet Falcon, sorry for any confusion this may have caused ) Fuzors.. aren't really. You have the buy the Zoid in its fused state if you want, say, Liger Zero Phoenix or Jet Falcon etc. Also there are actually 4 sets of battle missions, not 3. I missed that initially. Chaotic Century, Zero, Fuzors and the era from the story ( which appears to be Fuzors really, but it has different missions ). I didn't get ptera rayse with it, no. I was hunting around to get the game as soon as I could and I couldn't find it with that kit. However, I will be getting it I think. I'd rather have that "laser nest" cannon for the back of Rayse tiger though I wonder if they'll ever release it like some sort of grade up. There do appear to be some sort of internal mods that can be done to Gamecubes to let them play import games. While the Freeloader is really cool in that it's easy to use, it definitely -would- be nice to see the proper characters. I wonder if any of the modifications that can be done would alow that. Hi MysticSkye, hooray another kiwi!

I finally managed to do it, after much muttering but ow! You are a far better gamer than I. I don't think it's possible for me to win every mission with a class S ranking. Some of those levels are really cheap, with a small, enclosed area and starting off being surrounded by several powerful Zoids. Surprisingly, you earn less BP than before if you fight without a partner in Battle Mode. I guess the designers figured people accumulated BP too quickly by fighting alone. Edit: Odd things are happening in this game. For some reason, I unlocked Liger Zero Pheonix (Blue version) and Liger Zero Pheonix RD without gaining an S rank in Mission Mode. Additionally, I've completed the Battle mode with nothing below a B rank in all my matches, yet I get a total rank of D. I don't understand.

Oops sorry! I meant to say Liger Zero Jet Falcon, not Phoenix ( fixed post now ). Phoenix you don't need to do the all S thing for.
So to clarify, you can unlock Liger Zero Phoenix ( both versions ) via the Battle mode as you said, and you can get Liger Zero Jet Falcon by completing mission mode ( easy or normal ) with all S rankings.
I have also had the same result as you in Battle Mode. I completed one battle mode at about that level and got a D. I then went back and did it again, making sure I got all S ranks ( reloading whenever I got anything less and trying again ) .. and still got a B. This one I'm finding really confusing as I then went and tried a different battle mode era, got lower ranks on average, and got an overall S ranking for that era. I wonder if it has anything to do with the total BP earned. Beats me so far!
Regarding getting all S ranks in Mission Mode, I think the only reason I managed it was going back time and time again over problem missions, trying different Zoids until I either got lucky or got it right. And I have to say luck came into it -way- more than I would've liked. There were a few missions I looked at and thought "This is impossible" but after a stupid amount of repetition things finally came together.
I'm just finishing writing a more complete review at the moment which I should have done in the next couple of days, and then I'll try and get to work on a walkthrough for mission mode if I get the time.

The 3 on 1 versus the Peace Keeping Bureau, and the battle with Dakalt Dragon and the Red Command Wolves are really unfair and frustrating. I used Rayse Tiger 90% of the time to beat those missions. How about you?

Same here with the Rayse tiger The laser nest weapon is pretty fantastic in terms of the amount of damage it does in my opinion. I used the Rayse tiger against the peacekeeping bureau but I found I really suffered in the other mission you mention. In the end, using the Liger Zero X on that mission worked out a lot easier for me. Still, getting unlucky once, jammed against a wall etc would generally mean it was game over in terms of an S. This was all on Easy mode as it appears to make no difference to what you unlock. Stompy put me on to this and it does seem to be true. I don't think I'd have a chance on Normal mode, too many guided missiles etc!

Someone on the Zoids GC board mentioned that happening as well. I believe that if you redo the mission, it brings your overall grade down. So if you fail, you need to reload your mission data without saving the loss. That seemed to work for them.

Gariyuki is in the game. It has a flight option that you can purchase, as well as a Displow or Evo-flyer-based weapons systems for sale (the Displow/destroyer set rocks). The only Saga Zoids are Aero Liger, Trinity Liger, Blitz Tiger, and Geno Hydra. No aquatic Zoids beyond any that appeared in Zoids VS II.

I was hoping that Berserk fuhrer Z or some others would appear in VS III. Too bad. Its a shame that VS hasnt introduced any good aquatic zoids, for use in aquatic places...

Its a shame that VS hasnt introduced any good aquatic zoids, for use in aquatic places... Considering Zoids VS III is the first Zoids Battle to use flying Zoids, I think aquatic units is asking a bit much. They'll probably use that for Zoids VS IV. Thanks to Smilodon's advice, I managed to finally clear level 20c and earn a class S for mission mode. This is not easy since your teammates often shoot you more than they hit the enemy (Dakalt Dragon is more deadly as a partner than an opponent). I have played using Liger Zero Falcon, and I'm not impressed. It has a great melee attack, but its long-range weapons lack power and are hard to aim. The last secret I seek is how to unlock the three Nutrient Z sub-parts. I don't know how to do that. Any ideas?

I don't have teh game, so I have no clue, but you could search for an internet guide probably. Also, I have a favor to ask. Would you be willing to take pictures of some of the zoids? (cough*gairyuki, rayse tiger, more gairyuki in all modes, and others) I would greatly appreciate it if you could get around to doing this. TAhnks much. Epyon

Mr. Guy is correct, I think regarding Battle Mode and reloading. There was one era of Battle Mode that was causing me some problems to get an overall S in, so I tried running through it again and not bailing from any missions unless I did a complete reload. It does seem pretty forgiving, accepting approximately an S average to give you an overall S rank, in Battle Mode at least. Way to go, Sen Vaez, I completely hated a couple of those missions and lost count of the number of times I had to redo them too! And I completely agree about allies. They are often busy either shooting you or doing stupid things involving taking lots of damage to leech away that S rank Honestly I have no idea about the Nutrient Z subparts. I take it those are like the 3 ultra Z parts currently available but better? I've got S ranks in everything now I am pretty sure so I'm a little lost as to where I'd need to go to obtain those.

All I know is that one significantly boosts speed, another turning, and the last boosts attack. I only call them Nutrient Z parts since they're similiar to the Nutrient Z used in Zoids Battle Legends/VS II. I haven't seen them on the sub-part purchase screen, so I haven't unlocked them.

Do you have blue, green and red "Ultra Z" parts available at the bottom of your parts listing? Just checking, because these three parts do appear to have the effects that you describe. In previous versions they were more of a global boost but it appears they have three specialised versions in Zoids VS III.
If you don't have those, let me know. I backed up Zoids VSIII on to another card when I finished mission mode so I may be able to work out what it is that you need to unlock to get these parts.
