Hakujin no Fuukishin Liger Zero

I got this old GBC game in from ebay, and I'm having problems. No matter where I save, I always end up back at the first village with my old data. And I keep on dying. I also can't figure out how to build new Zoids. The gamefaqs guide isn't very specific about what to do. Has anyone here played this game and can help me out?

Sure you're hitting the right options when saving? I know in my game after saving the first time it gives me an are you sure you want to overwrite the old file blah blah prompt that I have to say yes to.

Ah, I've figured it out. When selecting save and the next menu comes up asking me if I want to save, I've been selecting the first option. Which I've just realized that the option is "no". Now I've got the saving part downpat now, thanks Tillers. Now I just have to do something about this dying thing... I think that I can keep up to three zoids with me, although...ugh, I wish I could read these instructions. You can read Japanese, right Tilly? Can I mail you these instructions?

A very limited amount of Japanese...enough to flail through menus, but not instructions, I bet.

If you can read kana (or get a chart), typing up the menus you get might work...in my game you catch critters, not build them, then customize away...

See that's the thing. I dunno if I'm supposed to catch them or build them. There doesn't seem to be any way to get Zi data like in Sagas, and I think one of the options on the menu is to let the Zoids go, but I can't figure out how to catch them. Is it like Pokemon, whittle down their HP and use a Poke Ball do some menu option to take them?

In mine you have to explode 'em to catch them.

Can you type up the menu options? Otherwise I have no idea what they are...

you capture zoids by blowing off there weapons and then making it go splodey to get there weapons blow off one weapon and then make it go boom!

i got all the way to the end of the game but couldn't kill the BF

Ohh, so that's why you are able to target their weapons. I see. When it didn't seem like anything was happening I just decided to attack the Zoid's body. I'm so glad there's someone here who's played the game. So can you capture more than the three that you can hold at a time? Do the extras fight at the same time in battle? Do I get anyone other than Allstar as a pilot?

Hakujin no Fuukishin? I might be a bit rusty, but doesn't that mean "White Man's Wind God?"

No, according to the guide it means Silver Beast King.

ReMember Allstar's Liger Zero is silver as opposed to white. Although it looks more white in the game. :/

Aha...it should be hakugin, not jin, and maybe juukishin. That's the reading I'd guess for 獣, not fuu. ki is machine and shin god there, I know that much...

I've also seen "shirogane" for the silver bit. Does this game ever get a title with a reading ?

I dunno, I'm just reading what the guide I got off of gamefaqs tells me.

And now I can't figure out how to switch around the Zoids I've caught. Right now I have the Lightning Saix and Elephander I caught in addition to my Liger Zero. I also caught a Rev Raptor that I can't figure out how to get to. I got a Hover Cargo before I entered the ruins, but I don't know how to use it.

Not yet, I'm getting that one for Christmas. And I'll be needing Tilly's help on that one since I won't have a clue what I'm doing.

I know how to switch Zoids in Jashin Fukkatsu, but I dunno how much help that'll be...anyone have screenshots of the menus for this game?

I have no scanner or a digital camera, so I'm no help. The guide says that the regular menu options say that you can view which Zoids you have in your Hover Cargo, but no mention as to how to get the mofos out.

BTW, Zoids Saga Fuzors just came in the mail, my sis emailed me and said she got Genobreaker Story, and I'm gonna bug the heck out of my mom to get me Zoids Saga DS. This is gonna be a merry Zoids-y Christmas for me, I can tell ya!
