Alright... my second try at a fanfic...
This is supposed to be a "series" of stories about those fighting in the Republic-Empire war of Chaotic Century, but only those warriors not featured in the story. In other words, the 'Unsung'. ( I'll try to refrain from TOO many cliches)
-------------------------------------
Life on the Imperial battlefront is often painful, tough, difficult to stand, and always excessively boring. And of course, it's even more difficult for the new recruits.
"Oi! FNG! Get your useless but over here!" shouted Colonel Wickstaff, toward the confused-and-frightened Private Sakamoto.
"Y-y-yes sir!"
Wickstaff, wrapping his arm around Sakamoto, slowly whispers in his ear, saying"You do realize that we are at war, right?"
Sakamoto, clearly in shock from Wickstaff's arm being around him, slowly stutters "y-y-yes, s-s-sir."
"Ah. Well, then. You must know that we must constantly prepare for what ever may come our way." Wickstaff paused for a second, then pulled Sakamoto's ear closer to his mouth, and shouted" Then get in to your bloody zoid!"
Wickstaff let go of Sakamoto's head, causing him to fall to the floor clutching his ear.
"Get up, ya pathetic little..." started Wickstaff, interrupted by the sound of large steel-toed boots walking down the hall.
"Wickstaff!" boomed a deep voice from behind him. "What have I told you about torturing the new guys?"
"Uh...not to?" cautiously mumbled Wickstaff.
"That's right. Now get out of here before I have to report you again!"
"Yes, sir..." angrily muttered Wickstaff.
Wickstaff trudged away; but turned around after a second only to give Sakamoto the finger, mouthing "I'll get you, punk!"
"I'm sorry for that. He's a little...egomaniacal. And drunk. " the large man stated."Oh! Where's my manners? I'm Captain J. Everson."
Sakamoto, looking up at the 6 and a half foot tall man, slightly smiled and says "I'm Private S. Sakamoto."
Everson, lowering a hand down to help Sakamoto up, quietly says "Nice to meet y-" Everson stops abruptly, interrupted by the alarm.
*Alarm ringing*
"What the Fu-?!" yells Sakamoto, almost scared out of his skin by the bell.
"Those Republicans are really starting to try my patience!" mutters Everson."Alright! Everyone, to your zoids! Prepare for combat!"
Sakamoto, scared, stutters out"W-w-w-wait! I've n-n-never flown a zoid before! I d-d-don't know w-w-what t-t-to do!"
"It's easy, I'll show you. And, kid, work on that stuttering problem. I's annoying." calmly said Everson, while grabbing Sakamoto's arm and dragging him toward the Zoid hanger as fast as he possibly could.
Once they arrived at he hanger, they found it in a state of chaos, with every one running around like an Iguan with it's head cut off. Eventually, the pair was able to find an opening with two ready-to-launch Redlers. Everson confidently climbed in to zoid without a problem. Sakamoto, on the other hand, clumsily stumbled into the zoid, with his legs flailing about.
"Come on, boy! Focus!" yelled Everson from the cockpit."You can't be beaten by a seat and expect to win a fight!"
"Isn't there a different zoid I can pilot?!" whined Sakamoto. " I've never piloted a zoid before! What makes you think I can pilot a flying zoid on my first try?!"
"We don't have time for thi-"
*BOOM!*
Everson, stunned by a Barigator's missile, is almost knocked completely out of the cockpit.
"Private! Follow me!" yelled a light voice from another Redler.
While Everson slowly climbed back into the Redler, Sakamoto followed the other Redler out onto the battlefield. Once in the air, Sakamoto looked down onto the field to see what he was up against. Upon looking toward the ground, he was stunned by the sheer size of the Republican unit, which consisted of the usual large fleet of Command Wolves, Shield Ligers, and a small amount of Barigators, Guysacks, and one Gordos. The Republic sure did go all out for this one... Sakamoto thought to him self, only to be hit by a missile, nearly sending him to the ground.
"Whoa!"Focus, stupid! Focus! Sakamoto thought to him self.
"Watch it, kid! You'll get us both killed! shouted the pilot from the other Redler.
"What the...?! This thing's falling! What'd I do?! How do I stop thing?!" shouted Sakamoto, as soon as he realized that his Redler was losing altitude, right into the range of a waiting Shield Liger.
"Hahaha! I've got you now, punk!" smirked the Republican pilot.
And, as if a planned miracle, Evenson swoops in at just the right time to push Sakamoto out of the way, only to be destroyed himself by the Shield Liger's quick claws.
"CAPTAIN! NOO!"screams Sakamoto, now sobbing."I'll kill you, you son of a-!!" shouted Sakamoto, now charging his Redler right into the Shield Liger that had just destroyed Capitan Everson.
Wait... how am I supposed to destroy him with out any real weapons?! I could use the blade, but...
Before Sakamoto had any more time to think about what he was doing, he collided head-first into the Shield Liger, killing Sakamoto along with the Republican pilot as well.
Unfortunately, though the Imperial forces fought with great valor and strength, in the end the small Imperial outpost of Red Tree valley was overcome due to lack of preparation and ammunition, and in time was destroyed by the Republican forces.

Well, there it is. If people think it's good enough, I'll write more stories in what might be a 'series' of those unsung warriors.
Any comments, criticism, or ways to improve anything that involves these stories would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Le Mosh
