I Find this very interesting. Image if American and Jappanese technologies were to work together...
This would make alot of sence, considering it is a republic, and the whitehouse, and the president and all, but wouldn't the animators want it to be a Jappanese Flag?

The Helic Logo, looking very much like the UN's would really suggest to me that the Life Ship was more of a "UN Spacy" colonization effort by a united earth government. "UNS" being a pretty common and generic term used throughout many anime.
Also, I dunno about that "american flag" thing there... looking at it on a pretty high-res monitor it looks like a indistinct smudge, and not really like a flag to me. -_-

I have a pretty high-res monitor myself. I'll admit though it is difficult to spot for the first time.
Could somebody take a better pic? I'd ask Procompy, but I can't seem to find him anywhere now...

I think I read this somewhere before. Oh, now I remember, Hey Mr. Guy. As for the American Flag I think it makes a lot of since. It can't be to far off in the future because the flag still looks like the 50 star flag. Maybe some ships accedently went through a worm hole or something like that during an exploration to Mars.

I get around The 50 Star flag also seemed pretty unusual to me. Ya' think the US would at least get Puerto Rico by then...

Iirc, the ship they were on was called the Globally III. While it doesn't necessarily mean anything, it does imply that is was carrying people from more than one country.

You needed to revive a dead thread to insult Janeway :p?
But really...if she hadn't blown up the array thingy and stranded them out there, she kind of would have been leaving people to die and stuff. Not a very nice thing to do, you know?

I've got the idea that it was a United Nations Space Exploration Group. It's usually the UN in most anime, so why not here? Also, are there any pics of what the Globally III looks like, or can I make that up?
