haha i was about to delete the thread until i re-read and saw thta this wasnt your entry... Well thanks for checking it out first! Anyway, here's some pics of the little Ankilosaur in the background. Just don't forget, though, this thread is still primarily for the Raven Phoenix. Pretty silly ,eh. The background story goes that this Zoid was built to counteract the Evil M&M of Death. HA!

Well...the Ankylosaurus is original, to say the least.
Nice colors for the Fire Phoenix.

Nice repaint. I've never used testors in spray form, but everything else I've used from them I havn't been too happy with.

Thats a cool color scheme! And with the fire pheonix's green eyes, it makes it look like an Empire zoid. You should just call it Fire Raven so when combined with LZX, it would be Liger Zero-Raven.

That's a cool name, except there's really no colors that imply fire. But I do like 'Liger Zero Raven'. And it is supposed to be an Empire Zoid. If you look on one of the pic of the bird mode, the decals EZ-101 are on both wings.

Primer is mainly nesseccary if you're painting really dark parts a really light color. That wasn't the case here. And the finished paint job wasn't sticky at all. It has a very plastic feel. But the metallic paints ( I used metallic red and gold) tend to take a little longer to dry. Or maybe it's just that flat paints dry faster.

For a smooth finish, I recommend only using the spray cans. Painting witha brush is really only useful in very small, intricate areas. And about two to three coats will be plenty. Just make sure to keep the can moving as you spray so to get an even coat. In some cases, one coat may suffice, but I recommend at least two. And yes, they are oil based. Although, Testor recently released some acrylic paints wich you can attach to a air spray can to use sort of like an air brush, but I haven't tried those. I've seen the kit at Wal-Mart for around $12.

[glow=green,2,300]That was a good choice of colors for that repaint of the Fire Phoenix. I also use that brand spray paints and found that the all work well on my zoids. [/glow]

The ankylosaurus, well, isn't that intriguing or amazing.
The Raven Pheonix, on the other hand, kicks butt! Great color scheme! Matches well w/LZX!

Heh, heh, my Ankilozoid is a joke!! (see, I don't even try to spell the name right, plus it's not even an ankylosaurus) ;D I only posted pics because someone asked me to. It's pretty crappy, but it's like my *Watch your language!* kid. I love it, but it'll never play with the other kids (er..uh.. Zoids.)

well its good to know that testors are good for this. Also, are the ones in bottles same kinda paint(yes stupid ?, but thats just me)? Cuz i'm gonna drybrush metal parts on my *counts* 4 customs that i'll paint as soon as weather gets bit better. So i do want brush on paint to have same feel as sprays.
