I was on Nintendo.com and they said that both zoid games will be one player, but wasn't the japanese Vs. game two players?

Yes, it was 2 player in Japan.
The sad thing is, it's only two player.
For the American versions, I'm unsure.

What's so bad about 2 player splitscreen. 4 players are always so hard to see. I'm sure others will whine about online, though, but Nintendo fans don't really care that much about that, do we? Huh? Guys, are you there? Hellllooooo?

Single player would certainly take out some of the replay value in the game. Kids want to take on their siblings or friends just to see who can 0wnz, right? Kids and their Liger Zero Xs and BFs and Geno Breakers...
But some games are built on the multiplayer culture. Armored Core, anyone? Let's not forget MechAssault.

Armored core only got online with Silent Line, I think, but Mechassault Multi is pretty damn fun. (Not online, but still)

No, Federation Vs. Zeon and Encounters in Space were good, so far as I know.

Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries is the closest thing we have that is legal in the U.S. The only things that they are missing in that game are flamethrowers and charge-up weapons.
