Those used to be available in other parts of Asia not just in Japan. Basically 'given away' as a type of prize.
For example, looking at the various Zoids boxes (I'm referring to the Japanese ones, not sure about Hasbro's), on the flaps, you can find something known as 'Z-Points'. By accumulating the 'Z-Points', and with the relevant purchase receipts (within a certain time frame), one can exchange those points for one of those Crystal Zoids from the relevant distributors. Of course the big ones will require a lot of points.
Those were available in Malaysia and Singapore too.
But that was a few years ago. And, I don't have any.

I think Deathsaurer ranged from 150 to 200 Z-points, depending on the area. The Molga was about 50 and redhorn 100. UK boxes also have Z-points, don't know if there'll be a promotion though. I think the Molgas also came packaged free with Shield Ligers and Zabre fangs in australia for a limited time.

I have the Molga and Deathsaurer. Come to think of it, I think there's a set on ebay right now for all three.

Once I saw all three of them on ebay for $199.95, and I would have bought them with the rest of my money left over from previous birthdays, but my dad wouldn't let me buy them why, dad, why!  |

I missed out on the Molga for 18 bucks...but I have the Red Horn. It's spiffy...and I want the Death Saurer. Red eyes in translucent plastic looks cool enough with the Holo Geno...

I got the molga for FREE ;D Target gave them away with Zaber Fang but peoples ripped them off so I told Staff and they gave it to me free with Gojulas Giga.

I want two DS period, one to make my Geno Ryu custom, and one to paint as a Bloody Deathsaurer. Thank goodness Hasbro's releasing them here, otherwise I'd never get one. Ryu means Dragon, right?

Ahh, Crystal Zoids. I've a long way to go from getting my Crystal Deathsaurer. He's worth 200 Z-points, and I've only got 88. Waaaah. :_(

Sorry to be the barrer of bad news but the competion is over you can only get them from ebay now or other shops.
