1st I've heard of it! I'd like to know more as well. Hey! Please make them put a red ultra to catalog specifications in it. I was saddened by the last core box having the elephant in blue when I already had it in that color. I know most would rather have it that way, but I was in need of the red oer one.

We haven't heard any information on this Core Box yet, other than that it has entered the planning phase. However, the tag line "Machine Beast New Century" is tied to the NJR era, and was used as the Japanese title for the Zoids Chaotic Century manga. So I'd expect whatever it comes with to be NJR focused, as much of the anniversary has been focused on the anime era.

I still can't get over that the NJR/NAR era of Zoids was over 20 years ago... That being said, I'd be down for some re-releases from that era, maybe a book with some promotional photos and NJR boxart. If they were to package a Zoid in with a 40 years Core Box, I'd almost guarantee it'd be Liger Zero or Ban's Blade Liger. Then again, Mammoth was kind of a weird choice for the last one; would've made more sense to go with Gojulas, I'd think.

I'd almost guarantee it'd be Liger Zero or Ban's Blade Liger. Oh please NO! I am completely LIGER'ED out! They have played that damn card way too much!I've always been more of a fan of the dinos and mythical creatures myself. Hense my fondness for my gunny! I've missed out on quite a bit of the 40th anniversary goodies. I want some of the shirts, the umbrella, the stainless steel cup and a few other goodies. But they are trickling into the auctions and mercari. I did get the patch set and both judges stand ups. So they likely will see what over stock they have from the event enough wise to put into a box and then throw something else into it to make it wanted. Idk

I'm having to come to terms with the fact that what I want is a unified army of zoids, not just a few iconic mecha that I remember, in new and better forms. There are some zoids that I feel could use a second pass, but they should still fit in with the originals that I have dozens of. These masterpiece ones are amazing, but at those prices it's ever gonna happen. Even cut in half

I'd almost guarantee it'd be Liger Zero or Ban's Blade Liger. Oh please NO! I am completely LIGER'ED out! They're pretty much the RX 78-2 of the Zoids world now. Every new release starts with a damn kitty-cat and then it ends because nobody bought it. Sigh. Anyway, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for anything better than the AZ Zoids. So far we've got those, and these lame ZW recolors with the "40" sticker - if they were going to do anything bigger than that, I think it would've been announced by now - the year's almost over. I will happily eat crow if they announce a Masterpiece Deathsaurer tomorrow, but I kinda doubt it.

Coincidentally, 2024 marks the 25th Anniversary of Machine Beast New Century Zoids line which ran from 1999 to 2004. 2024 is also the 20th Anniversary of the line's discontinuation.

I thought Ray Gregg piloted a normal black and white Liger Zero.

Ray stole the original black and white prototype from the Empire. After the Ray Force stumbled upon an Eisen Dragoon base, most of their Zoids were immobilized by Grounchars, aside from Ray's Zero, which Wolff Muroa wanted a fight with. Eventually, Wolff retreated and a subordinate was left in charge of the Bloody Demon. Ray had two options, as the only Ray Force Zoid still active. Follow Wolff, and kill him, thus ending the Zenebas war before it could reach the Central Continent (where many Zenebas loyalists would flock to support the Muroa name) or stay and defend his allies, who, mostly immobilized, would otherwise be slaughtered by the Bloody Demon. He chose to stay and fight against direct orders. If he hadn't, the war that erupted on the Central Continent could've been avoided. The Ray Force was reduced to a unit that took on only the cruelest missions by the disciplinary force, which held the entire unit responsible for Wolff's escape. The Zeroes were repainted to blue and used in combination with Phoenix's. These are the blue "NJR" Liger Zero Phoenix. It's the color he continued to use until the end of the battle story. Ignoring that they were supposed to be disguised as Xs, but the diorama people didn't bother to switch them out for EMs

I remember owning the Mammoth core box. It was my first "expensive" Zoid. Sold it years ago to someone who wanted to appreciate the model kit and all the media preserved in there.
I will probably be skipping this one, though I have to say, including a masterpiece Liger Zero (what are masterpiece zoids called now?) with a unique color is very cool. Zoids have a lot of exciting upcoming releases!
