I'm pretty confident that the modification to the sculpts is to make sure the kits comply with all of the rather strict US toy safety laws. They were quite a bit more lenient the last time Hasbro sold Zoids kits here.
That said, in a little disappointed in how... minimal the toy line is atm. I understand Hasbro probably wants to play it safe incase the line doesn't sell well, but... it still kinda sucks. I really hope it does well enough to get them to release at least most of the other Wild kits.
The message from the TakaraTomy guy feeling kinda... pointless. Really just boiled down to "we're still developing new things for the franchise".
Also have to admit that the little hologram of Liger Zero at the start and end of the presentation felt like a bit of a tease...
