Kotobukiya will be reissueing the 020 EZ-035 Lighting Saix in September 2020 for 5,200 Japanese yen as the 020 EZ-035 Lightning Saix Marking Plus Ver. How many Marking Plus and Repackage kits do we have to deal with? www.kotobukiya.co.jp/product/product-0000003694/

Idk, but I'm so happy that the Saix is getting a reissue. It's maddening that Kotobukiya produces such limited runs of their HMM line. The demand for them is clearly there, so much so that the resale market is just insane.

Many people want kits that they didn't have a chance to buy prior. Especially with how quickly they shoot up in price, so the MPVs/etc. are a welcome addition to what would otherwise be a straight up reissue. Now we're getting callouts to some favorite variants, stories, etc. and clear canopies to encourage customizing. In the case of the Saix, it has the Barrette Gatter logo, which I'm super hyped about! I never got the original Saix and now I might need to break into painting an HMM for the first time. It is one of my favorite variants. Most likey, the MPVs are filling the time slots between new releases, rather than slowing them down. Your sticker guy won't be your 3D modeler guy, etc. These keep the press running, so to speak, when there's nothing else at the time to run.

I'd prefer if they just kept them in production at all times, but I guess that's just not an option for Kotobukiya, so periodic reissues is as good as it's going to get, and that's fine with me. So far I haven't bought any of these because I already have the original versions of all of them and additional stickers don't interest me, but I'm glad they exist and that HMM isn't dead. Remember it looked very much like it was dead, very recently.

For me, Koto should update the box art to differentiate. I do believe there are additional clear parts for the reissued markings plus versions.

My HMM Lightning Saix (and the spare patte I got a few years ago) continue to be as frail as possible...
Those joints...
I don't think I could live through that again...

My HMM Lightning Saix (and the spare patte I got a few years ago) continue to be as frail as possible... Weird. I found the Saix to be one of the easiest HMM builds and relatively free from Kotobukiya's usual unnecessary overengineering. It's also forever since I built one, though.

It wasn't a hard build but every single rubber component has degraded to the point where it can hardly stand
I have made several efforts to get new pc parts, including buying a used HMM Lightning Saix. Even that kit was degraded and in pretty rough shape.
I honestly might justs sell them both on the cheap for scrap or thrown them out...even the chrome parts I purchased for it are in bad shape

What is up with Kotobukiya releasing a new HMM a month after month?

The only reason why I'm getting this kit is so I can have on with the Strike Laser Claws and one without the Strike Laser Claws.

New blog. They used the same box art from the original 2010 release.
