Yeah, I have to agree with Hanyoutai here, the animation looks really great, but the character designs and just what you can glean thematically from the visuals make this look a whole lot like Chaotic Century, and that's... really weird. You have to wonder what the rationale behind this is - the kids who have now been watching ZW for about a year will likely be alienated by what looks like a complete shift in tone, so I wonder why they don't think this is going to drive their audience away.
Then again, they did something not entirely unlike this with the shift from CC to Guardian Force way back when, so maybe they're trying to repeat that. Personally, I like what I'm seeing here a lot better than ZW, but I don't really care about the anime beyond wanting it to be something that's going to keep the toys alive for as long as possible.

A surprising direction to be sure. I would have thought they would see the success of ZW as affirmation that the more character-driven story and more emotive Zoids were a good move, something to build off of. I'll keep an open mind about the new approach, though I'll probably be disappointed if it becomes just another heroic good vs villainous evil, war (for the sake of war) is cool, battle simulator type show.

I like how we're getting two different takes on the same line with Zoids Wild 2 and Zoids Wild Zero. I'm looking forward to both of them.

I'm not sure diverging from the uniqueness of Zoids Wild was a good move, but I did like how it may lead up to how the empire and the republic became a thing? I'm really getting tired of "these are the good guys" and "these are the bad guys" though. The reason I got into Zoids was its "war is hell" theme and how interesting Zoids and grey area the characters were and how far the ideas of animal mecha can be brought. I don't really care for nostalgia trips, I care for originality and weirdness. (However I couldn't stand Zoids Wild for its annoying logic and PHYCICS, and there was was budget ash Ketchum, Kaiba and team rocket which really annoyed me. But I did enjoy the premise and I wish there was more lore) I'm just hoping the lore is good, and the characters aren't stereotypes.

The first Zoids show to air on TV Tokyo was Zoids Fuzors in 2004.

DHM has posted an article showing some screenshots of the upcoming series, which includes a new variation of Wild Liger! It'll be interested to see how the customization aspect of this develops.

Zoids Wild Zero is being directed by Takao Kato, the director of Chaotic Century/Guardian Force and New Century Zero. The writer and character designer from CC/GF are also returning.

There's a new PV on Youtube but it's region-locked. Any reuploads out there?

Thats crazy As bizzare as it is to go against the tone of the WILD franchise this past year, I think this could be good for Zoids. As an older fan, WILD did not interest me at all. Now the same creative team behind the original series is back, creating an eerily similar story line? I'm excited but extremely wary of what is to come.

Yeah I'll give the new show a try I gave the old one a try. I didn't hate it. I don't mind some silliness and some more of that feel, it just didn't pull me in

New teaser is up youtube.com/watch?v=ZHUjY0Rxfao
We see a bit more about the world they live in, how they operate the Zoids and an "Empire" like logo which reminds of a certain other logo. (Perhaps from a time before that certain Empire came to be?)

Hmm... seems like a higher animation budget than Wild? For the 2D animation I mean, the Zoids 3d models have always looked great in motion.
