That is a pretty nice looking kit... especially with an original template that basically had no articulation.

But it did have the articulation sculpted in, that's what I love about the NJR era. and most of the OJR but there was a strange part in the middle of the grade-up era when lots of zoids had zero sculpted leg articulation

The problem with the early NJR designs I find is that most of them do not walk very well, especially the smaller designs, whereas the reissued designs in my experience did much better. Command Wolf, Bear Fighter, Brachios, Helcat, Cannon Tortoise, and even Heldigunner walk well, if you can forgive the fact that the latter's rubber springs break apart. Good luck getting a productive work out of Gun Sniper and Rev Raptor though, and even Spinosapper suffers this problem. Hammerhead is actually one of the few exceptions that walks well.
Oddly enough, the Grade Up look-like-they've-been-sculpted-not-designed walk very well, at least the only ones that I have (Gilvader and Battle Cougar). Why they made the Grade-Ups unarticulated, I do not know however, but that's why I want Kotobukiya to try to have a crack at them. Note however that Gilvader is one of the few Grade-Ups not to have one-piece legs.

The windup kit did have hip rotation, but it did not have flexing ankles and knees. Rev Raptor's legs were comprised of a single piece of plastic. (well, the foot was a different piece, but there was no joint).

My NJR kits have leg articulation? Talking specifically about the sculpting, and about the specific end of the OJR era with the grade-ups and such. When you look at, like, Battle Cougar, its legs are just one smooth piece, there aren't even joints sculpted in that you can look at and pretend. This was true of a few others too. At the same time the designs were also getting a bit way-out with things like Gungyarado

Oh, yes, Battle Cougar is the best example of a designer giving up on any semblance of mechanical realism. I would really love to see that one completely reimagined. Actually, I have the parts to do that... I just need the time.

It only come with one pile bunker, so I need to order at least two. It does not come with the Pile Bunker. The Pile Bunker will be released seperately. It is scheduled to be announced around June this year at the same time as Raven Raptor.
