Nice box art. I'd get one if it wasn't for the fact that I already have one built and another one MIB...
If they reissue the Breaker, though, I'll probably pull the trigger. I built one of those years ago, but all I did was panel lines, and I badly want to do a proper paintjob.

The box art is cool! It's based off of a Battle Story scene, where to determine the course of development, the Empire had both teams create Zoids for a test battle. Those in favor of developing new super-technology created the Geno Saurer, and those who thought their money and effort was more efficiently spent remodeling old Zoids for current warfare created the Saber Tiger AT and Dark Horn GC. The Geno Saurer brutally destroyed both Zoids, and the Commander ordered that they begin mass production of the Geno Saurer immediately.
It's a fitting scene to have chosen for the box art, which is rereleasing the Geno Saurer! The other options were a scene based on the old Tomy box art, and a scene where the Geno Saurer stands in the way of the Blade Liger, in front of a core pod, to obtain the missing piece of the Organoid System.

Revisions become standard after their first release, it seems. All of the Genos after the first Raven Saurer have had the revision parts for the CPC firing pose (which was more of a flaw than a feature in the original). All Fuhrers have had the Tyrann revision parts since its release, etc. The Marking Plus and Repackages also seem to include all of the most relevant decals, so it makes sense for the Raven decal to be included. Raven piloted a purple Geno Saurer before the red one, which used the extendo-claws. So having it in OG colors with the Raven parts checks a lot of items off of people's wish list~

Is there a canonical link between the Geno Saurer and Death Saurer? For some reason I like the design more after reading Maethius' comment about it.

Yeah, both of the Ravens have the parts~ Which is nice. It'd be a shame if they couldn't do a proper CPC pose. IIRC the Geno Saurer incorporated part of the Death Saurer's development data, but more importantly, its incomplete Organoid System used data from the Death Saurer Revival Plan. Which was interrupted when L.C. Halford's Shield Liger ripped out the Death Saurer's Zoid core and triggered a detonation that destroyed the summit of Mount Olympus, and the ruins where those plans were being carried out. The Republic recovered data on what they had seen from Tommy Paris' Command Wolf. Its head was able to be air lifted off the mountain by a Double Sworder at the last second. They used that data to develop the Blade Liger, a hard-to-control Zoid. The Empire used their data to create the Geno Saurer for that test battle. Later, that same Geno Saurer, piloted by Ritz Runstedt would come to face Arthur Borgman's Blade Liger in the Galil Ruins. Here they both found and fought over a huge pod with a Zoid Core inside, suspected to be the missing piece of the Organoid System. In the end, Ritz escaped with the core. This is what one of the HMM box art concept sketches were based on~ Sidenote: In the Battle Story, lots of Zoids (including Rev Raptors) have an Organoid System. It's a system that causes an unusual activation in the Zoid Core, resulting in increased combat power. These Zoids are known to be exceptionally difficult to control, as well as violent. The real dangerous part is that their violent tendencies infect the pilot's thoughts, and can cause the pilot themselves to become corrupted. It's mentioned that only 1/10 ace pilots (not just any pilot) can withstand the mental damage caused by piloting an OS Zoid.

Being pretty unfamiliar with the Battle Story as I guess a lot of Western fans are it's great to get some of these details. Is "The Iron Bible" your website? I can see that it has translations of a lot of the Japanese books etc. I'm going to have to take a thorough read through all that stuff sometime. As a side note, what is Dark Horn GC? I'm not familiar with that variant.

Yes, The Iron Bible is my site~ It also has a lot of contributors though, who help to bring all this information to the public. The Dark Horn GC stands for Gatling Custom. It's more or less a Dark Horn without the green.

I would kill for Kotobukiya to make an HMM based on Raven's first Geno Saurer from Chaotic Century. The Geno Saurer Raven Ver. was based on Raven's second Geno Saurer from Guardian Force. Raven's first Geno Saurer had red and purple colored vents. Raven's second Geno Saurer had light red colored vents.

They did~ The HMM Geno Saurer Repackage. Raven's first Geno Suarer was a normal Geno Saurer, not a custom color one. The Repackage comes with the Raven parts, so the extendo-arms. The only color differences are those that probably aren't worth casting second sprues/painting (it doesn't have the black face or chest vents).

The funny thing is, Raven didn't pilot a "black" Geno Saurer in the first place. Both of Raven's Geno Saurers were dark blue.

That may be true, but it's as simple as a parts swap. Dunno if I'd want a unique kit that couldn't even bring unique colors to the table.

I would also go for an HMM of Rotten Roger's Geno Saurer from Fuzors.

We've never gotten it in any physical capacity before, so could be cool~ I hope Kotobukiya does some more groundbreaking in the future. The Psycho Geno and Irvine Saix were shocking reveals.
