Rising Liger jumped the queue ahead of the Drei Panther because I wanted to see what the gold armor looks like. It looks good.
I'm also still working on my array of jokes about the name "Drei Panther".

It actually looks really nice! I think I'd rather see the red and gold swapped, though.
The wild blast is pretty dumb, but it wouldn't be hard to swap it with something better. And it sure seems to walk like it's trying to sneak stealthily, but with single-piece legs there's only so much that can be done.

Looks much heavier than the prior versions, and they actually got quite a bit of animation out of the armor... I'm impressed! The more subdued colors look pretty good, and the move to solid colored caps was a good one. Thanks for the post!

great review! The final version of the kit is MUCH nicer than I expected. The gold actually lools...really nice. And that Wild Blast is really animated too.
Still not a fan on blades sticking out over heads but as far as Wild Blasts go, this is interesting.

It may be a "meh" in many ways, but to me, at least it is not yet another Liger (that is actually a lion). It has some nice detailing on it, and I bet it would paint up rather nicely. I Think one thing that makes the kit a bit less interesting is the lack of color... yes, a panther is all black (well, it is a jaguar that is black on black, but that's not really the point), but a contrasting or complimenting color could make a big difference. For instance, the armor or structure sprues could have been molded in a very dark brown or blue. Still, the customizing potential is nice. One thing that did surprise me a bit is the backpack thing being one huge piece. It looks decent, but I really expected to have to assemble that at least a little!

Yeah, I actually meant to comment on the fact that the black and the gunmetal read as basically the same color, but then I forgot to mention it.

My latest shipment from HLJ finally came through after sitting at the Tatebayashi post office for two weeks and then getting returned, so I got the Kuwaganos and the Omega Rex yesterday. Decided to do them in the order they're numbered in, so here's the Kuwaganos. The short version is, it's a Kuwaga in a surprisingly nice color with six extra parts that add nothing and make it look weird.

I really like this one. It can use more Gatling cannons, of course (can't everything?) but a nice little Zoid with some interesting details.

Glad to know the Omega Rex is good in person. Never would have expected the mechanism itself to differ from the Death Rex. You're killing me with these reviews-- I wasn't planning on getting either this or the Geno Spino, but after your comments I have to reconsider! |

Huh, I really don't hate that Rex. Still want it to have longer legs, and the 'blast' is overbearing and silly, but it's definitely not terrible

Honestly, I still think the Death Rex has one of the best looking heads in the history of Zoids and it's worth using as a base for a kitbash for that alone, it's just too bad it's attached to, like, a turkey wrapped in fern leaves. |
