Finally got my HMM Marine Kaizer the other day. Here's an... unboxing? The boxart is really nice, of course. What I don't understand is why the box is the size of a full-blown HMM Zoid's. It's actually half empty. I'm counting about 220 parts plus polycaps here. Not that that's a problem - I'm not a fan of kits that are complicated just for the sake of being complicated. I just think the size of the box is misleading. So that was a bit disappointing, but then I thumbed through the instruction manual and realized that the kit comes with waterlides. Thank the mecha gods for that, at least. Since the kit looks like a one night build, I may actually snap it together and do a review before I paint it. For some reason I'm kind of itching to get this one put together despite my sizeable backlog.

Thanks for unboxing this one! I agree the Box is way too big, would be interesting to see it compared to the size of the Model already build. Do you have plans for painting this one?

I'm definitely painting this kit - robo-viking needs some rust. What I'm wondering about is how much bigger this one is than the HMM Z-Knight. The box is like twice the size.

Right, here he is all snapped up. I had to leave out a few pieces, like the red beer can missiles on the shield, because there's no way to get those off anymore when I take the kit apart for painting. I took lots of pictures during the build and I'll put together a full review soon, but the tl;dr is, looks nice, engineering borrows so much from Bandai that it's kind of hilarious, will enjoy painting this, but too small and too expensive.

Ah thanks and i will look forward to the whole review! The ZKnight indeed looks good and i can see now the proportions are very different to the Tomy as for example the Weapons are way bigger.

Cougan The shield appears a little bigger than it really is in the picture because of the perspective - it's held pretty far forward, so it's a good bit closer to the camera than the rest of the model. Still, though, you're right about the proportions of course, and I have to say what originally drew me to this kit is the fact that I think it's actually an improvement over the Tomy kit, and seeing it IRL now, I still think so. The HMM Z-Knight just looks spindly and weird. Although now of course I want to snap that one up as well, just, you know, to see. Ahem.

Nice! When you are a Zoid addict, sometimes you forget there are other cool things out there. ^_^
