As many of you with aging HMM collections know, the first thing to go is the joints. Whatever flexible thermoplastic they use simply does not hold up over time and its elastic modulus decreases over time. The result is that our beautiful Zoids will find it harder and harder to stand on their own, much less hold a pose. I have been trying to solve this ongoing problem and I think I have found what I hope to be a permanent solution. The savior? 3d printed flexible parts. The one on the right is the original "PC H" part from the HMM Berserk Fuhrer. The batch on the left is the recreation with slight modification to the dimensions for a tighter fit. The result once installed in the BF? Absolute perfection. I will check back in with an update after some stress tests. The first stress test is going to be a dynamic pose for a month. The second stress test is going to be a new pose every day for a month. If it can survive that without losing too much strength this could be huge.

Woohh... Thats very useful.
I hope we all get a 3D printer soon and can share the blueprints for this kind of stuff.

Also if anyone is interested in buying some I'm willing to design and print them. Just need to know which zoid and which part.

Are you willing to share blueprints and the designs? This is incredible. I have a printer I could use at my local library and my lightning saix needs new joints.
I wouldnt blame you if you decide to not share and start selling the joints for profit.
Let us know what you decide to do. This is exciting.

Yea, I don't mind sharing the 3D files. I'm using a specific flexible resin from form labs so I'm not sure how other materials will do, however, it never hurts to experiment. I'll try to finish an entire PC sprue from the BF and I'll add a link for them here.

That is the dream machine from everything I've read. Please keep us posted on Zoidy uses for it; I would love to start producing custom parts with one!
