Some quick thoughts If someone had asked me what studio I would have liked to see, versus what studio I expected to see working on a new Zoids anime...well...OLM was definitely one of the ones in the latter. Don't get me wrong, OLM is..."fine." They have a LOT of Pokemon movies and animated shorts under their belt, all of varying quality. A noteworthy example is the Pokemon Origins 4 part special, which I have to say was very well done. With that said, the animation style they are going with is...jarring to say the least. Here...Let me get the good stuff out of the way before I complain: - The run cycles look awesome
- the mecha designs are cool as hell
- the human rider concept is interesting too (hooray for smaller scale models!).
But CHRIST does the CG look terrible. Like really really terrible. It's godd@mn distracting. As I feared, this is definitely not even close to my demographic of viewership. Can you imagine an entire show where edgy special attacks are plastered in front of the screen during battles? I get that English can sound cool to Japanese speakers but who the hell thought of "DEATH BLAST!!" and "WIND BLAST!!"?

Not saying that Hasbro doesn't do a good job with what they have...but with the history of Fuzors...I wouldn't let them touch an anime with a 100 foot pole.
I'd imagine the toys get spread via Hasbro lines, just as the Pokemon and Transformers toys do. Then again, I've seen a lot of Tomy branded stuff here stateside in larger retailers, so maybe Tomy is gonna go all out on their own.
Time will tell, but I know what I'm spending my money on...

Looks like TT just posted a couple teaser images showing the toys. They seem to have mostly rebuilt legs and stuff, but for a smaller scale, the stability some of those gimmicks will require, and a more kid friendly line I'm certainly ok with that. Especially in front of my 10+ HMM backlog that I just don't have time to build. This way, I can build the kits as soon as I get them. I'm really enjoying this so far. I agree, the taglines are a bit ridiculous, but a lot of kids shows have these. It's certainly not aimed at adults, and this seems pretty in line with what I'd expect much younger viewers to watch.

Hopefully this doesn’t stop the koto hmm line, I do love the more adult builds

Dengeki's coverage of the press event: dengekionline.com/elem/000/001/686/1686915/ Lots of interesting information, but some select highlights: This is a true 360 property. Manga, anime, toys, apparel, arcade, mobile, and even a console game for Nintendo Switch! So Hasbro doesn’t have the license any more in America? Maybe they can pass the anime to funimation since I haven’t seen anything from VIZ lately That doesn't mean Hasbro won't be involved. Takara Tomy also owns the U.S. trademark to various Beyblade products that Hasbro releases here under license. www.trademarkia.com/beyblade-burst-87083187.htmlZOIDS WILD is a children's anime. I wouldn't expect anime publishers like Funimation to be interested. In fact, I'd consider it a kiss of death if they were as they won't get the show in front of the eyeballs it needs.

I'm very excited about the concept of games, but I certainly hope that it won't interfere too much with ZOIDS FOR. That said, an interesting gimmick for an app would be a toy scanner like some others have tried. A sort of archive of Zoids information, clips, etc., that you could unlock when you buy the toys. At least that's something I'd like to see.

Does TT have ANY idea what it is that they are doing?
They are just throwing money at literally every market for a niche IP. They have no idea if any of this is going to stick.
FOR !@#$ SAKE THEY ARE DEVELOPING A SWITCH GAME! These people are a whole new breed of crazy.

I see no problem at all with them going big for a kids show. The more coverage, the better. Building hype with kids is a good thing. Handheld games will reach a lot of children, and merchandise aimed at kids will be in stores where children will certainly see it. What would've been sad is another fart in the night that not many knew about and nobody cared about, with toys largely sold through web-order only.

Unfortunately CoroCoro region locked that video to just Japan shortly after I posted. Here's a Dailymotion upload (unofficial): I'm very excited about the concept of games, but I certainly hope that it won't interfere too much with ZOIDS FOR. That said, an interesting gimmick for an app would be a toy scanner like some others have tried. A sort of archive of Zoids information, clips, etc., that you could unlock when you buy the toys. At least that's something I'd like to see. FOR is aimed at older fans. As long as it remains financially successful, I wouldn't expect Takara Tomy to do anything with it. Probably not as involved as earlier kits, but you're still assembling them. Takara Tomy is a Japanese company. In Japan, Nintendo Switch is a very popular platform and likely the best place to release titles aimed at children. 3DS is ageing and the PlayStation platforms aren't well owned by children.

Thanks for the link Overall, I have to say, these mecha designs are really, really good. Especially that tortoise! (Anyone else notice that Double Sworder? that would make it the only Zoid ever to be a part of each main Zoids line since the IP's inception) The builds look HORRIBLE and uninteresting though. takao dont get me wrong...I love my switch. I just don't think its a good idea for any company to have invested so much money on an idea that isn't guaranteed to work. They might stretch themselves too thin.

I REALLY hope Hasbro has NO involvement. Their distribution is bad. TOMY US did a pretty good with their Pokémon line. They should get Zoids now that they lost Pokémon.
