I don't think it's a problem of feathered vs. scaley, but the design itself. I like it as a standalone Zoid but I could never guess it to be a veloci, especially with that banana beak and missing the iconic claw. I must say though, I'm impressed that they made an entirely new raptor and didn't simply reuse the Gilraptor frame.

Aside from the lack of the killing claw and the dinky arms, the basic skeleton at least looks on point for a real Veloci I think it's just the armor that's off-putting

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree there~ Its arms are microscopic with virtually no 'fingers', barely any neck (though this is true for a lot of dinosaur Zoids), a sloping dog belly, and a tail that is surprisingly stubby for any dino, barely even being longer than the head. To an extent I'm sure a lot of this is tacked up to mechanics, but I don't actually see any part of this Zoid that matches a veloci besides the leg joint proportions. The belly slope being backwards at the very least I'm sure could've been worked out.

I mean, I did dismiss a lot supposing mechanics were involved, lol Honestly, I'm mostly looking at the skull, which is honestly more accurate than anything barring maybe the Bio Raptor. As a paleontologist, I gave up on Zoid bodies really resembling the actual thing very well a while back, lol

That and a lot of these Zoids suffer from a lack of armor.. This one shows it a lot, it's just a big transition from canopies and a lot of armor to no canopies, rider on the outside instead of pilot and that underdressed armor. That Kong and this one have it a lot but I also thought that Liger and Gil had the same issue, which makes the legs look stick figury.. But we'll have to make due with new Zoids as apposed to no new Zoids for there are a lot of cool new designs) Just personally would have liked more armor (because they also took away all the guns because "of course nowadays that's not done on kids toys". And for us as longtime Zoids fans, that's a lot to take in from what we were used to.

Is this a new thing they've found? That kind of ruins the sleek look I'm used to

They are actually including Sue’s gastralia in her updated mount at the Field Museum

A nice side shot of the Triceradogos! At this rate I suspect we'll get great looks at all the big players so far in a timely manner. The Triceradogos is, however, very very round. Like, a lot rounder than I expected. I guess I'm used to the longer triceratops Zoids. Still a nice design overall~

And it looks like he's laughing Better than most armor wise, but still a bit "underdressed". All in all good enough though right? Oh and by the way his Wild Blast will obviously be that horn weapon (the one in the middle) Attachments:
