I made some front shoulder armor from that deodorant cap and I have installed the missile pods. I'm not done painting all of the parts (most obviously the forward 20mm lasers) but here is the current state of my Gordos. i.imgur.com/ilsowpx.jpgi.imgur.com/cQai5w3.jpgi.imgur.com/zliZlp5.jpgThis is by no means the final version, I intend for my Gordos to evolve in a natural way over time. But it is at a place now where it really feels like a complete, custom outfitted Zoid that at least begins to address the biggest issues I had with the stock loadout. Future upgrades may include: Replace the 105mm cannons with larger missile launchers w/ larger missiles. Mortars for launching smoke and chaff. Some sort of flak turret to shoot down incoming air threats such as missiles. And something definitely needs to be put on the end of that tail because I really hatted the stock gunner seat back there and it had to go lol

Does anyone know of a good online resource for information on weapons in the zoids universe? I'm specifically looking into what types of missiles exist but any knowledge base for zoid weapons would be invaluable to me for making decisions regarding how to outfit my Gordos. Also if there is a more appropriate thread I should post this question in please let me know. Thanks gang!

I have to admit, I usually just alter info for similar modern weapons and tweak them based on any snippets I can find in the Zoids universe. Actually, that would be a really great resource; a reference about weapon/defense tech as opposed to platform descriptions.

Yeah that's what I have been doing so far but real world weapons are quite a bit more devastating than what we often see in the shows. But I suppose we can chalk most of that up to "plot armor".

Yeah, that's something I often run up against. When you realize that the average air-to-air missile is designed to 1-shot kill a target even if it "misses" by 20 meters (a warhead doesn't have to penetrate and explode inside of the target if it can shower it with cloud of hypervelocity razor sharp shards of tungsten!)

Exactly, and even against hard ground targets, such a missile wouldn't penetrate any reasonable armor but the blast would mangle all the exposed pistons and joints on the near side of the Zoid, totally disabling it.

one thing you might do is hit up a thrift store or a dollar store to raid the toy section for parts, even the hardware section has great stuff for kitbashing

The hardware store is my next stop. I have discovered that the long bar connecting the front and rear legs is totally unnecessary for the kit to move so I intend to remove it. However that means a few of the moving parts have long limbs and pins sticking out that are no longer needed as well. I don't want to chop up the original parts so the only thing to do is make replacements for those parts without these extra bits. It doesn't seem like too much of a challenge but the tolerances are going to be very small.

i love my local thrift/chairty shop......so much good stuff going for cheap. Plus the money is definately going to a good cause. i got a kyosho 1/10 rc car with two shells, numerous spares (including another petrol engine) all for £40. i stuck in a brushless motor and a lipo battery instead and now its a silent eco friendly DRIFT MACHINE no zoids as of yet though
