I was sick today so I decided to start on the build since I wasn't working. It's been a few years and I'd forgotten just how tedious the HMM builds are. Took me all morning just to finish the head! Reminds me when I got the Hasbro Fury for Christmas all those years ago and it took all day to build, but these HMM kits are a whole 'nother level of tedious. That said I haven't bought either kit yet but maybe for my birthday x3 They both look fantastically detailed

Has there been any updates on possible new HMM Zoids? I've seen a few reissues planned for this fall, but nothing that hasn't already been released yet. I recall seeing a few Twitter posts mention Koto, the World Hobby Fair and the #Zoids, but nothing seems to have panned out from that. It seems like Koto will be continuing to hold onto the Zoids license, so hopefully we'll see something new soon enough~

Zoids wasn't listed in their lineup for Wonderfest, either. Maybe we'll get a surprise, but I have a feeling the line is unofficially closed right now.

Yes, but there wasn't such a distinct radio silence, and there was an official announcement regarding the hiatus.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not stating it's over as a fact. It's just my impression. Everyone can guess for themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if it had an announcement at WF. I'd be equally not surprised if we never saw another kit out of the line. It has run for a long time, and pumped out most of the major Zoids already. Not that there isn't a plethora of random kits they could do, but with Hexgear taking the stand as Koto's animal mechs and Zoids Wild running its course, I suspect now won't be the time.

Was what I was afraid of... Because of the Zoids Wild thing going on, TT probably said no Koto (not to confuse those kids with Zoids "different from their new cartoon"..etc...) BS.. So I really hope the Koto line is not dead...but I am starting to get the idea that it will be or is... and that would suck..

The Koto line has never relied upon the existance of other media to boost their sales (save for kits inspired by shows over a decade old).
While we are all just speculating, it would be such a travesty if Kotobukiya stopped making Zoids just because TT is concerned over brand identity. It would be an extremely sh*tty thing to do to a company that kept your IP alive for the last 10 years.
Given the target audience, I don't see why both lines can't exist.

Koto has never been one to run a continuous stream of new kits to market. They have historically focused on one or two kits at a time and metered out their announcements based on having a demonstrable amount of development work completed. The only real exception to that was with Gojulas, which was such an enormous undertaking that they started hinting when only a few components were designed, and that was in all likelihood to allow fans (other than myself) the time to sock away the money to snap the kits up upon release.
Incidentally, if anyone wants to donate a couple of those kits to me.....
In all, I doubt there is such a conflict. Further, the release of Zoids Wild would not have the power to revoke the IP licenses held by Kotobukiya; there would have to be a pre-existing clause of some kind to backpedal on the initial contract. Again, all of this is conjecture. Takara-Tomy seems to have played this hand very thoughtfully, and I doubt they would undercut the exposure to their brand in that way.

Someone stared at the end of each year koto releases a survey asking what you would like to see, was zoids even on it ?

I think the second wave might be done.

I don't think it could all be blamed on Wild, though it makes sense for it to step back while the license is primarily focused elsewhere. While I also don't think they'd yank the license randomly, we have to assume Koto was aware of Wild being in production for some time, and their releases have stopped just in time for the series to launch. It doesn't have to mean it was yanked, but it could have been planned for. You're also right that they don't rapidly push out kits, but aside from the hiatus, we've also always been aware that there were upcoming releases in some capacity.
I'm not necessarily saying that it can't compete, but that it doesn't have to do anything right now. Especially with no major series left to cover. They did the two big ones: CC/GF and NC0. Fuzors would be a poor choice with HMM stability, and Genesis was already handled partially in ZA form (at least the main ones they'd want to release.) There's no shortage of Zoids they could release, but at this point it'd feel a little bit like "Ok, this wave is dedicated to the side characters!" If Koto is going to take a break (or even drop the series), now is an ideal time to do it. They aren't the sole supporters of the franchise anymore.
No, Zoids wasn't on the survey, but iirc it's usually a general "Figures" and "Mecha" survey. I'm not finding much about previous years surveys, though, and my memory isn't good enough to remember if it used to be listed anywhere.
EDIT: No news at WF it seems.

So been a while since I've been around here. Surprised to see that despite that, not much has happened in my absence.
Main reason I'm here today is because I decided to check out HobbyLink as I used to frequently do, and saw there were only FOUR items in the Kotobukiya Zoids section. Seems that it isn't exactly unexpected based on what I've seen here!
Anyway, my money's on the HMM Zoids being on hiatus while Zoids Wild is in the forefront. (Still would've liked to see an HMM Konig Wolf before they backed off, but eh. Maybe someday!)
As far as the original subject line of this thread, though... seems I totally missed the boat on the HMM Storm Sworder. ^^; Not like I've got the space for it, anyway. (Honestly debating selling some of my collection, but then immediately realize I'd regret it, heh. The space would be nice, but the money I'd get out of selling anything would be far less than I'd have to pay to get it again, so here it stays!)
So yeah, gonna take a wait-and-see stance on the HMM Zoids. I don't think they're "done", but can't say for sure. Hope for them to return, but I hold no expectation. Can't be disappointed either way, that way.

Yeah, the English forums are very slow these days. It would be nice to discover that Koto is actually working on a major release like Deathsaurer during this quiet time, but holding my breath probably isn't going to happen.

Realized there weren't many photos in this thread the last few pages, so thought I'd share some photos. Got the Sturm Tyrann snapped together recently. Though I've built a bunch of Tomy/Hasbro Zoids and Gunpla this is my first HMM. I'm so used to the humanoid shape of Gundam designs that I really didn't know what to expect with a dinosaur. I found it's quite poseable! Comparison with Hasbro Fury. The angles are sort of misleading though. In person it feels like it's maybe 20% larger. Definitely has a much larger presence.
Closing thoughts: pleasantly surprised! I expected it to look amazing but have some functionality issues--I've tried some non-Zoids Koto kits before and they've all had medium to serious issues with stability, parts fit, etc. The Tyrann's joints feel sturdy, and only one piece seems to fall off, which can easily be glued after painting. The one design issue I noticed was that the scissor arm parts have trouble holding up their weight if you fully extend the support arms. But not a big problem since they look better closer to the body anyway. One of my favorite kits I've ever put together... really a striking design.
