No, this is 100% New Japanese Release. OJR has shine red, not dark red, and OJR black is little to brown, and NJR has true shine black. Well the NJR sounds like an improvement to me colour wise and I can feel less guilty about customising it, a win/win for me then! Cheers!

Depends on people, I'm sure some people will like the shine red for sure. However, if you want to customize it, NJR will be a much better choice. (Just extra careful for the tail, especially the pegs on A5)

And Yes i did paint my Deathy NJR too ( in white), but the dark red is a beautiful choice too. Thats why i got another and let this one in rhe colors. So maybe you want to keep it original?

I'm not going to repaint it just detail it and perhaps add some battle damage.

Ah i understood am curious to see that! Just finished putting him together as per the instructions and he definitely needs more work done on him, looks way too bland, needs detailing, more weapons (there are loads of spare pegs), weapons swapped around such as that sensor unit on his arm that just looks daft. He also needs weathering, battle damage and hopefully a dio at some point.

I can tell we all have different tastes. I like my Zoids simple and all clean; they have a classic feel. Additional weapons to "fill the space" feel excessive to me, but I can understand why others think that a busy-looking machine would be a more fierce and powerful combatant.

Oh yes that is impressive! As i see again on your Deathy i wonder there seems to be only 2 guns in the head instead 3 should be there? CISsuperdroid: I like the clean retro look too but also have fun to detail some of them and give them more firepower! Detailing via painting is so much fun on zoids as the structure is so well made with thousands of tubes pannels fans etc and is wasted often without shading

Additional weapons to "fill the space" feel excessive to me, but I can understand why others think that a busy-looking machine would be a more fierce and powerful combatant. I'm trying to keep all my Zoids constant in style for the collection so I'm mixing HMM with TOMY so I need to be as detail conscious on the Tomy stuff as well as the Ktoto. But I agree less is more for many design builds, especially my custom built guns where I like to keep everything matte black and angular:
Mid build but you get the idea:

BTW he has three guns on his snout/nose but they blend into each other all being the same colour plastic.

Done detailing the Saix now as he's officially driving me nuts! Got all his tiny decals to do and then a black ink wash and a matte clear coat and then his dio...

But this looks good! I use Paintbrushs to do dezailing but this will be not faster i guess...

But this looks good! I use Paintbrushs to do dezailing but this will be not faster i guess... these markers are just like painting as you get different tip sizes and the colour is actually paint not ink. It can be quicker but also less accurate than a good paint brush so you need a scalpel/razor to carefully scrape off excess paint/colour; that takes about as much time as actually "painting" the details. I ended up spending most of yesterday continuing the detailing and applying the endless amount of water decals but it's in the paint spray booth now drying a matte clear coat, I'll then apply the black ink wash with a brush and wipe the excess off as it dries.

Seems to be very effective cause the results look not that clean and non real than mine!
