Looks boring. You can control one zoid, the rest is mindless bots. With touch screen this is going to be a nuisance. The rest will be pay-to-win that's clear to see. Pass on that one. And with MOBA this has not much to do... but that had to be expected. MOBA+Mobile just doesn't exist.

I like it quite a bit, though I was surprised to see the chaotic cluster of scrambling Zoids. I was expecting a battlefield movement similar to strategy games where you move players across little blocks on the battlefield. This is a lot more dynamic looking, and it appears that you have way more options than I would've ever expected from a mobile game. For example, having charge attacks on top of several different weapon options. The extra weapons don't appear to just be for show either. Shield Liger uses 3 different attacks in that video, and looks to have at least 4. Weapons also each have their own ammunition and level. Looks interesting, and I hope it's indicative of how detailed the final version will be! Dynamic battle is 10x more than I was expecting. We can't get any worse than Bonds of Steel's battle system. Okay I'm calling it. Shill detected.

As a Zoids fan, I see the appeal this must have had in development. A MOBA means we can have a dynamic, real time war zone for Zoids.
Too bad that won't make it fun to play. LoL, DOTA, and HotS work because they have their own dynamics and charm in their gameplay and characters. There is no "fun factor" in this Zoids game. It is so unbearably bland and uninspired.
If this was a fan game, I would be more impressed. As an official product, this is embarassing.
Credit where credit is due, I am sure that a version of this game that wasn't F2P or on mobile would be better than past Zoids games. The idea is there; the execution sucks.

With the traction that VR is gaining I'd love if Tomy would create a sort of Zoids VS/Infinity VR game.
Pipe dreams~

By nature mobile games are simpler, they'll never be up to par with what modern day PCs and gaming consoles can offer. Almost all mobile games also have some kind of pay option, people get paid for their work. Still, compared to the last two mobile games this looks better. Bonds of Steel's variations augmented stats alone, which instantly determined the winner in a 1 click battle system. Material Hunters had an N64 battle system. Variations augmented stats. You got 1 basic attack and 1 of 4 specials that were copy-pasted across every Zoid in the game. The melee wasn't usable in 90% of combat. This game is already starting with more Zoids than MH started with, a more detailed combat system than both, and offers more variations and depth just by allowing each Zoid to have its actual weapons. It's a mobile game, and for a mobile game it looks good. We'll see new weapons, and maybe even new variations. New characters and new story, even if it's likely to be extremely basic. At the very least we'll hopefully have a decent roster of Zoids. Luckily, everyone has the option not to play if it's that bad. I'm still excited for it~ If we're talking about VR pipedreams, I'd love for Zoids World to get it instead. This may be a better option for people to watch if they're looking for a PC-quality game, and with Unity's asset store it has the possibility for a lot of growth, depending on how far the developer wants to take it.

Let's just stop right there. What was that? Anyways, this game is clearly a cash grab. What you are looking at is the final dying moments of an IP. This game will be nothing to talk about, and is the final dying breath of Zoids. It's guna be awful, it's guna be unfinished, unpolished, unrefined, and likely riddled with in app purchases, 100%. I have seen this before with some other smaller communities I have been involved with, for example Ace Combat (7 is going to fail if it hasn't already - no updates in a year says a lot) went down the same way with AC Infinity.

To compare, I am thinking that the Ace Combat community is probably anywhere from 3-4 times as large as the existing zoids community. At the *height* of Ace Combat Infinity, there were at any point in time 1 million players online.
Now, a few months later there are maybe, maybe 100 players online at any given time, and likely less than half of that most of the time. The game was riddled with in game purchases even though it was "free to play" and required you to grind way too damn much to get anywhere or do anything even if you did pay for stuff. They also stopped adding any real content to the game and instead just kept on shoving in things like more planes or more weapons or giving planes higher levels to upgrade to instead of providing any sort of real or quality content such as maybe better enemy AI or new bosses that are actually challenging or new game modes (save for a single new game mode that hardly anyone cared for). The same thing will happen here. You will see them add a shitzillion zoids to this game after implementing very dry and bad gameplay, and then charge you for more zoids / higher level zoids, etc instead of adding anything of worth to the game.

Not that any of that is untrue, but it sums up the entire industry. All franchise game apps are riddled with in game purchases and micro transactions. Major changes rarely continue after the first few months and that's a generous time estimate given Zoids mobile games have a life expectancy of a year or less. Everyone was hoping for more than a mobile game I'm sure, but if you want a state of the art anything, Zoids probably isn't the best franchise to bank on. That being said, I severely doubt it's the dying breath of Zoids. I won't be surprised if they make another app next year when this one dies. They're still making secondary media and kits 10 years after the last anime. Zoids will never win the media race, but it trucks along. Has been truckin' for a very long time, and if the 2 worse mobile apps didn't kill it, this one won't either. In notreallynews they've got a new video showing a camera pan of the Iron Kong, which'll be featured in the beta test. Unfortunately it's just advertising the beta. I hope they have an in-game feature to really zoom in or view your Zoids in a hangar setting like this, even if it doesn't have the camera pan. They have one of Shield Liger too~ Also not sure I support the stylistic choice of hot pink Deathy teeth.

I see... they licensed their pre-made models to them. That explains how it all has been hammered together so quickly. The same zoid 3d models used since what? PSX days? Not that I would complain about graphics (you know I'm no gfx-*Watch your language!*) but that's now the how-many-thd zoid game using the exact same art assets?
