I'm actually finding it relatively well-balanced (I did buy some Zoids, but I haven't used them yet), although the upwards-launching missiles are still a bit overpowered. My strategy's pretty much the same as Hanyoutai's, although I currently have a blue cannon instead of a green one so that I can lock onto enemy players. I also use the Return button occasionally, particularly if I need to get back to my stronghold to activate a Deathy as soon as possible.
A few hours ago, they finally announced FoR's first in-game event: the "Great Death Saurer Subjugation Operation", a tie-in with the real-world event this weekend. The in-game event will be starting tomorrow, after a maintenance period from 1pm to 4pm (Japan time), and offers rewards based on the number of Death Saurers destroyed.

Do you find it hard to take down players without a blue Weapon Hanyoutai? I'm very different strategy wise from you two, Guess I'm more living true to the fighter role of the shield Liger. Equipped on the red shieldy is a blue double firing weapon I keep upgrading to take down players, a red triple firing cannon for the small zoids and en extra set of armour. I found the Green cannons too slow and I rarely used,So I don't even bother equipping one. If I want a base taken down I'll help the small zoids, they do a fantastic job at destroying the bases if they can get to them. And I'll always back up the missile wufs to keep players off their backs. And interupt the missile wufs/ other heavily armed foe attacking our bases.
Tomorrow when I receive metal in the daily box of presents Shieldy will be up to level 20 so I'm looking forward to see what the reward is, (If I remember correctly getting shieldy to level 20 was one of the missions) I wonder if every player in the team gets the reward for destroying the death saurer or just the player who finished it off.. Nonetheless think I'm Gonna have to put some time aside to take down a couple of Deathsaurers tomorrow regardless if I'm in Hong Kong or not.

Disconnect is a problem. Down to 0 LP due to various connection issues including other reasons. I doubt the thing is a cheat. I've seen one paid-guy taking down a DS alone before it past far beyond the home tower on the lane at least in 3 matches now. Something is odd with DS too. The DS produced by non-payers walks helluva slow across the lane. Paid-user DS move up to double as fast. I've used a stop watch to check this so I'm not imagine things. The unbalancing and penalizing of non-payers really is not funny at all. My setup is also more or less the same as you mentioned and my observation so far has this: Non-payer damage to buildings with missile 400 base damage at lv10 does little damage it's difficult to notice the reduction. I've seen a single paid-user alone doing clearly noticeable missile damage to building. Judged by eye I would say 15% or something like this. 3 hits and the building had been nearly 50% down. That's an incredible difference there. In more than half the matches I've checked out like this people left. After half the time it had been like 3-4 or 2-4 players on teams and it's already a nuisance if paid-users are over-powered but being under-staffed too against them is simply bad. If it is a technical problem and not a voluntary discrimination then they really should get up and fix this mess quickly since the early-leaving rate is already high. 1/2 matches or so with voluntary or non-voluntary drop-outs and counting.

The Deathy could be them exploiting a CPC. The more it fires, the slower it moves across the map. Or maybe just hacks. Wouldn't be surprising for a mobile game.
The other stuff I have no response to because honestly I haven't had that experience at all, or witnessed anything like it. I deal clearly noticeable missile damage to bases, and I haven't spent a penny. 2-3 drop outs out of like 50 fights. Of course, one person maketh not a sample size, so not seeing it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. All I can say is that my observation differs.
Re: Vig, yeah, it's hard to even hit them. Few battles come down to Zoid count though, so I prioritize base damage and run away from confrontations. This makes allies important, most have my back and distract enemies. Meanwhile, I can do constant damage with weapon 2 while waiting for the missile cooldown, and can destroy a stronghold on my own. Much faster if an ally is with me. I can also stop almost all Deathies from reaching my base if I get on them right away, which is a huge relief when you get those incompetent teams who don't pay attention to what the Deathy is doing.
I help small Zoids where I can, but upgraded missiles are getting more and more common, so it's rare for them not to be intercepted. They don't gain much relevance to me until 1-2 of the enemy strongholds are down.

Yea I wish I could destroy Deathsaurers better, I do struggle. Guess they are built like buildings, lol. If the deathsaurer goes down the middle I have a panic attack.
And lord of dragons, sure they haven't just focused on upgrading their green weapons? Maybe they put everything into it but have crappy everything else, or played a ridiculous amount of hours. Personally my green weapons do bugger all to buildings because I haven't focused on them and I'm a paid player. As for speed I have a feeling the speed increases with leveling up, Could be wrong. I don't underestimate command wolves and haven't seen anyone take down a base or deathy in 3 hits, unless it was a lag glitch playing catch up, funny things happen in this game. I don't know.

I've been pretty lucky with my connection - I've dropped out or been unable to connect a couple of times when starting a match, but I think I've only dropped out mid-match once, and that was my fault (I accidentally clicked outside the screen and launched a different app). I haven't run into any of the stuff lordofdragons mentions, but I have had a few glitches (being unable to use any weapons, not respawning after I died, and even two matches where all the bases were missing). Speaking of glitches, it looks like a few people on Twitter have run into a rather interesting one... Anyway, the event is now on! The good news is, the rewards include Zoid Gold... The bad news is, it's hardly any Between 4:00pm 27/4 and 12:59pm 2/5 Japan time, there's an extra option in the Co-op menu, in which four players team up to destroy a Death Saurer before it reaches their base. All the normal rules apply, except you can't build a Death Saurer of your own, the enemy team has no players (the Death Saurer construction starts automatically), and you win by killing the enemy Deathy rather than destroying the enemy stronghold. If your team destroys the Death Saurer, your personal count goes up by 1 for Easy difficulty and 3 for Hard. (Killing Death Saurers in other game modes doesn't count.) When your personal count reaches certain values, rewards will automatically be sent to your Present box. There's also an overall count and corresponding rewards reward, which will be delivered to the Present boxes of everyone who killed at least one Deathy once the event ends. For those who want the Zoid Gold, I'd recommend mostly green weapons - particularly gatlings and melee, which have a better recharge time than missiles. Remember to strengthen your Zoid and weapons if you have plenty of metal. Hard mode will get your kill count up faster, but only if you can consistently kill the Deathy (I think I won 1 of 3 tries at Hard mode and 3 of 3 in Easy mode). Be careful of the Molgas, and remember you can slow the Deathy down by running in front of it to make it use its CPC. The event battles don't give you any metal or League Points, but they do give you containers (speaking of which, the Drop Containers from Tutorial and Practice mode still had shorter unlock times last I checked ). If you want to get as much Zoid Gold as possible, you'll need to kill at least 34 Deathies, so about 7 per day - more if you're playing on Easy. As for the overall reward, it was nearly unlocked last time I checked and we're only a few hours into the event, so no need to worry there. Personal rewards1: Metal x50 3: Metal x100 5: Premium Ticket (Bronze) x1 10: Zoid Gold x100 30: Metal x300 50: Zoid Gold x200 75: Repair Kit x10 100: Zoid Gold x300 Overall reward10000: Repair Kit x25

Thanks for the info!
On the event itself, this is exactly what the game needs, and I REALLY wish we could have a similar feature so we wouldn't have to wait for events. Something toned down, but that'd still be a basic battle > reward system. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I hope we continue to see events like this. The worst part is the rubberband lag teleporting Deathy behind you at inopportune moments.
Prize wise, I think it's more a matter of finding your groove. Once you do, the prizes are good. Less than a days work for 600 Zoid Gold is a merciful deal. I switched to all green equip, so C Wuf could maintain a constant rate of fire. The base goes down just after the Deathy passes it every time, which slows the rate of molgas. We usually kill it right before it reaches the base. Up to about 30-something Deathys, and winning almost all fights on Hard Mode with the setup. Molgas are scary, though... But just pay attention to your surroundings and you should be good.
For gats, how do these work? I thought it'd be a damage-per-bullet thing, but it seems to be flat damage, maybe. Damage-per-bullet should add up fast with a 45 damage gat (8 bullet rounds), but I don't see a single pixel of damage on the health bar of an enemy base when firing these. So for now I've gone with cannons, which do quite visible damage, and can fire without any wait time if you have one on each shoulder.

I can't speak for paid-users as I see only non-paid but weapons can only be upgraded to lv10 and the upgrade benefit is a few percentage damage more but it's neglectable. The 400 damage missiles at lv10 has 419, which doesn't add much to it. EDIT: Now this is interesting. When I just checked for the exact damage numbers I noticed the lv10 cap on weapons is gone. Did they change something recently?

Different weapons seem to have different caps, but I haven't done a lot of testing and I'm not sure what determines the level cap. My green missiles and shoulder cannons have a limit of 10, but my green gat, red 3-target guns, and some of my blue weapons have a limit of 20.

Thanks again Falcarius for the useful info! It seems quite a few people had that shield liger glitch, how crazy. I was trying to figure out what was going on like were there shieldy's instead of molgas or something, could they kill players still. I logged in last night myself hoping to encounter it but did not. Very much loving this event, considering almost 600 metal is needed now to upgrade my zoid at level 21 so anything to speed up the process is very welcome. Anyone have any idea what the maximum level for zoids are?
I would definitely like some free repair kits! I had bought some and they are a great life saver but gosh do they go quickly.
I need to remember to jump infront of Deathy occassionally, usually deathy stops frequently but one time he just seemed to charge straight through to our base, Never seen him move so fast We literally blew him up the same time the base exploded holding my breath it was still a victory thank goodness. There was one match where a wolf just strolled off to one of the enemy bases and destroyed it.. like lol, what are you doing, I'm pretty sure they must have had no idea what was going on, A non-Japanese I can confidently guess.
As for the Gats Han, I've tried before. Had the same experience in regard to the effect on bases but they seem to work ok on players, Personally I Haven't used them much at all though really.

I think the event is getting to me. I had a dream Prozen took his Deathy out on a rampage and started obliterating cafes, trying to find a fox (I don't even know.)
There might be a different limit for premium Zoids. My Command Wolf can't be leveled up past 20. I've also had a couple experiences with allies running off to the main enemy base. First thing I do in each fight is destroy center enemy base, but anything past that's a waste. It doesn't make me weep quite as much as when red equipped Zoids won't handle molgas, though, cause my all-green C Wuf simply cannot.
Yeah, Deathy is scary without interference. I'm playing on an old Kindle Fire. The touch screen has random blackouts where it just doesn't work when it gets hot (after 2 fights) so I'm always just like 'ogod' when I'm the only Zoid there to slow it down. About a 35% chance my Command Wolf will just stop in its tracks when the CPC is about to fire.

Connection problems show more with this event. DS is jumping forward and backwards with you ending up in his CPC attack although you are behind it. One match it has been so bad I could not fire a single shot at the DS because it kept beaming forth and back. The data required to synchronize game state in this kind of game is so helluva small I'm astonished they fumble up connection stability this hard.

Hopefully they a fix, because it is indeed an issue. This is also probably their first real look into how the game will perform under heavier conditions, though. Best you can do is watch your allies. If someone is already running in front of Deathy, but it keeps walking, just hang back and keep shooting.
Looks like they also added new rewards for the overall score (total community score.) Can't quite read the exact details but it seems something like...
100,000 Wins: One of each Memory Chip (A-S-E-D-N), maybe more? Can't quite tell. 200,000 Wins: Premium Ticket (Bronze) x3
Also seems they're holding another container unlock event where times are reduced? But I'm not sure if that's based off of a higher score, or if it's already decided.

Yep, one of each memory chip at 100,000 overall Deathy kills, 3 bronze tickets at 200,000... and at 252,525 (a Japanese pun related to the event name) they'll unlock the reduced-container-time event. It's going to be a close call (34 hours into the event and the total is at about 56,000), so hopefully this will be enough incentive for the super-powerful/obsessed players who already got their 100 kills to keep playing the event. No extra Zoid Gold, unfortunately, but maybe they'll include some in the container event if we unlock it? If not, non-paying players still won't be able to buy a new Zoid... (Speaking of which, I've switched to my Dibison to get it some victories, since I've already finished all the Command Wolf achievements.) Meanwhile, over on the Japanese walkthrough/companion site, they've posted info on the subpilots and added a simple forum. They've also started a video series called ZOIDS FOR YOU, featuring voice actress Maika Takai, presenter Stan Smith and editor Kawai, where they talk about Zoids and how FoR works. I haven't watched the videos yet, so for now I'll just post the new subpilot info.
