The text at the bottom of that screenshot says that you can view and edit the keyboard controls in the Keyboard Settings menu (設定 -> キーボード設定). As for the gamepad controls, they look like they should map to pretty much any Playstation/Xbox controller. Here's a quick translation of the controls in case anyone needs it: D-pad: Move (or scroll through armour) 1: Jump (or select armour) 2: Sidestep 3: Light attack 4: Heavy attack 5: Roar 6: Sub-weapon 8: Open/close F-CAS menu 12: Purge blast I'm also curious about the "Command Techniques" and "Special Controls" menu options, but I don't have a copy of the game at the moment. ...I wonder if you can still levitate by spamming one of the buttons? OK so the xbox controller works perfect! Cannot believe I didn't try that in the first place, Much better now, first couple of runs I spent most the time as naked zero, and could not equip any armour, when I selected something would just explode before realizing that button 12 jettisons the armour, sure it blasts everything around but at the armours cost. Not touching that button now. So thank you, that certainly helped. I have got the basics worked out now, I'll take a good look through the menu tomorrow night. And you were right saying earlier, it is indeed quite an addictive little game.

Sorry it took me a bit of time to find which tabs the command techniques and special controls were. Finally downloaded kanji tomo as suggested by Hanyoutai, what a godsend that thing is. So anyway these two yes?:

Okay, so for "Command Techniques", you can press up or down in combination with light/heavy attacks for slightly different actions, and press down+jump when on a platform to drop to the platform below. "Special Controls" points out that you can hold down the light/heavy attack buttons to continue attacking automatically, and actions can be cancelled instantly by letting go of the button and using a different action - for instance, jumping or side-stepping straight after an attack to eliminate the "pause"/"cooldown" time afterwards, then immediately attacking again.
The inclusion of "TIPS" is a bit unusual - I don't think I've ever seen TIPS (in the sense of "snippets of relevant background information") outside of mystery-based visual novels like Higurashi or the Infinity series. I'm guessing it's just there to give background on names like Force 416 and the Ray Force.

Okay, now that I've actually played the trial version, time to dump some more gameplay information. Here's some stuff from the other menus (turns out TIPS really is just gameplay tips, not background info)...
- The creator is considering adding boss battles in future. - Defeating enemies gets you Boost Points, which haven't been implemented yet but will eventually allow you to buy some bonus stuff when you start a round: Armour Boost (increases initial AP of various armour) or Rank Boost (increases starting difficulty level, so it will act like a Continue option if/when boss battles are introduced). - Armour Breaks occur when your Armour Points (basically health) reach zero or your Heat Gauge reaches maximum. - Roaring does actually serve a purpose: it lowers your Heat Gauge by a certain amount. - Using a Purge Blast not only damages surrounding enemies, it also adds "Junk Parts" to each armour. Collecting enough Junk Parts will allow you to form Excess Parts... except they don't actually do anything yet. - Each armour comes with a Subweapon. For Reload Type, hold down the Subweapon button to auto-fire. For Switch Type, press the button to change modes. For Charge Type, hold and release the button to activate. - Some attacks may cause you to "falter" or "recoil", leaving you open to attack for a short time. "Falter" can be escaped by countering (using a light or heavy attack), and both "falter" and "recoil" can be escaped by "forcing through" (sidestepping). - There is a "status circle" around the Zero that changes colour and text to show your current status. - Some of your actions (e.g. Schneider's heavy attack) automatically put you in a certain status, like "dodge" or "guard". Dodge protects you from all damage, while Guard only prevents you from faltering (you still take damage). - Using a melee attack on an enemy will cancel whatever action it's doing, unless it's in Dodge or Guard status. You can break the Guard status with "blowback" attacks. - In most cases, your bullets will automatically be destroyed if they collide with enemy bullets. However, enemy bullets can also be destroyed (even by melee attacks).
And here's more detailed info on the various armours...

Holy wow that's an overwhelming amount of info, Thanks so much !
Looks like I'll have plenty of moves to experiment with. Quite surprising for a fan game there are so many combinations! Schneiders grapple techniques sound like a lot of fun. And very suitably I notice Panzer has no mid-air techniques. I am so happy to hear the roar does something. Finally I can justify random roarz , every game should do that.
