That is a pretty sweet looking kit! One or two things I would consider changing in the design, but overall nicely detailed and proportioned. If I were to get one (as a gift?!) First order of business, of course, would be a new paint job. That red requires... replacement.

I hope it's going to be a mass release instead of a limited release.

Well, hope no more, because, uh... ...it's been up for preorder in all the usual places for a little while now?

Kotobukiya exclusives (Death Stinger Hiltz, Gojulas Republican Scheme) are usually the only ones that don't go up for sale on other sites. Lots of other limiteds do, though, like Fire Fox and Command Wolf EM. Limited is usually a good indication of if you're likely to wait 5 years (or more) for re-release. But, at least according to Kotobukiya's site, yeah, this isn't limited~

Maybe that is to make your Iron Kong into an Iron Kong Mk2?

This looks great. I'm in a bit of a dilemma, however - I'd really like the red transparent pieces (I've actually had a wish for a long time to paint a standard HMM Kong to resemble its OJR version, and the transparent green pieces are the one component it's not possible to paint over), but if I'm understanding correctly those are only available by preordering through Koto's own website? It's a lot cheaper from other suppliers like HLJ and Amiami. Plus since I'm in the UK I'd need to have one of those proxy companies place the order which would up the price still more. So it's a lot extra to pay just for a few little bits of clear red plastic... is it definitely the case that the Koto preorder will be the only possible way of getting those parts?

Yes, you only get them from Kotobukiya Direct. It's 4500 Yen difference between Koto Direct and AmiAmi. The average service fee will be $20 for an item that expensive. There also may or may not be domestic shipping but iirc an item this expensive would qualify for free shipping from Koto Direct? So being realistic, you'd be paying a minimum $60 for those red parts.

Definitely digging the color scheme. I'm gonna pass on getting this one for now; can't quite justify the price point when it's just not one of my favorite Zoids, but I'm overjoyed to see that the HMM line is still going. Hope we get a smaller kit or two later this year.
