One thing that stands out about Zoids is that (almost) the entire model kit series from start to finish, except for maybe whiteheads (can't remember) were built on the promotion of chopping up and customizing Zoids. It may not be the original kit, but it is living up to what the creators and owners of the series wanted Zoids to aspire to be (even if it was for profit reasons, haha.) Custom kit bashes litter official media, so Zoids like this are living the dream!
I see there've been a lot of changes to this design, and it's moving in a great direction. It's kind of ... weird, actually, how -perfectly- the Brastle jaw extends from the E Liger jaw. Fascinating, though! Any chance we could see a shot of the neck all bristled up with the Brastle Guns, or are they no longer movable?

I'd argue less if it wasn't for the fact that each perfectly usable zoid we do this to means less for future fans who might discover the series to enjoy. Zoids really neeeds a new anime and more older kits rereleased...

That's on the company, not the fans who are using the products by their intended and encouraged purpose according to said company~ That being said, it seems rather disrespectful and demeaning to post on multiple custom posts guilting people about customizing. Customizing is a huge part of the Zoids community. There is, of course, as the OP mentioned always going to be a divide in the two teams but I think there are better places to put those arguments than specifically commenting on the works of people who have spent dozens, sometimes hundreds of hours on a grueling project.

My problem is when it's done with fully intact kits...it seems a sad loss. At the same time I can apreciate the creativity that goes into it, but It seems a bit wasteful to use a fully intact kit that somebody might have wanted.

Not trying to be rude but IMO it's pretty simple: if someone wanted it they should have bought it. In this case it was owned by someone who decided to use it for a custom, that means there's one less Brastle in the world and perhaps they're rarer now and thus will get more expensive. A quick search on Amazon shows you can still get Brastle Tigers so it's not like somebody can't still get one, and even if it was the last Brastle Tiger on earth, if you own one you can do with it as you see fit. I was late getting back to Zoids so a HMM Gojulas is ridiculously expensive right now. Luckily HMM Gojulas the Ogre is on the horizon now but i was seriously contemplating getting one of the expensive ones, it would have just meant saving money for that one kit i really wanted. I wouldn't be angry at anyone using parts of a HMM Gojulas just because it's a kit i want or someone else might want.

At the same time I can apreciate the creativity that goes into it, but It seems a bit wasteful to use a fully intact kit that somebody might have wanted. Yeah, I mean you are going to see a lot of Zoid body horror when you willingly enter a kitbash thread in a customized Zoids subforum of a Zoids forum. I understand it's "your problem", but it isn't "their problem" and as many have posted prior to this, it doesn't seem to even be a problem. It's understandable that a collector such as yourself who is starting at this time will have frustrations over the median price for full or partial kits to add to their collection. But taking these frustrations out by going into these kinds of threads and discouraging community members, who are building kits just as much as you are, isn't going to benefit you or anybody. To tell someone that their creativity is "a bit wasteful" in a place where this part of the Zoids hobby is encouraged is incredibly rude. Have consideration of all aspects of the Zoids hobby before denouncing kitbashing as such because they're cutting up their kits that you may or may not own one of yourself. This thread's for discussion about progress on a pair of sick werewolf and minotaur Zoid customs, if you have an issue with customizing as a whole please create a thread on it so this one can remain on topic. Thanks.

thanks for all the encouraging words. i was actually expecting a shitstorm cos thats what happens commonly when purists and customizers butt heads lol. So.. sorry bro if you cant stomach this lol but this is the way things are being done here in this thread. There are tonnes of other threads that customize through accessorizing or painting their zoids but not this one. Hanyoutai - the brastle fins still move but it looks kinda like the hairs are standing up i managed to do abit more to fabricate the limbs. here are some parts of the legs in sections. and i got hold of even better claws for the hands in my opinion. they are articulated and can do most of the "clawing" poses.

I ahve some advice, you ever thought of mounting an impact or similar cannon on the arms? And I'm sorry I was rude but I just don't like the idea of using an intact kit. And not everyone can afford one when they want it. Just saying.
Also, in termos of the actual model, it looking like the hairs are standing up actually would be a good aesthetic look. Are you planning on using the brastle tigers shoulder sin some way? they would add some significant fire power. I might also be interested ina quiring any weapons like the Diploguns cannon or blox from the Zero Pheonix you used. Some sort of chest cannon would work well on this too. Problem would be where to get one that wouldn't detract from the look of the Zoid. But just my opinion. Otherwise your design might suffer from the same problem of the G-Gigas: a powerful enough weapon with enough range could take it out easily. Like how the Gigas was easily defeated by the Seismosaurus in the Battle Story. Oh, that reminds me, I think all Melee units should have an E-shield. But that would probably just be in the final details of the completed kit.
But hand cannons are always awesome.

I have a Genesis Brastle Tiger that's only missing its eye piece, if I could get a replacement (wouldn't care about the color, would actually prefer NOT matching) I might just go ahead and build or sell it. My plan was to make it into a custom but it has been years since I made one and I need to just accept that I don't have what it takes. I can't do any real 'damage' to a kit because I don't have the tools or the knowhow, like drills and such. I wonder if this custom has left you with a spare eye piece you don't have a use for now...

Well, I guess that's one benefit I forgot about. He now has parts he might have no use for at all, so some people might be able to salvage their brastle tigers. Maybe we should set up an "organ donor" registry for parts from kitbashes and customs that weren't used in case somebody wants them?

Ceilyurei, I'm minimizing the amount of guns for this guy. It's getting all the blade weapons instead. The minotaur will be getting all the guns. So when I put both of them together in war mode final form, they are gonna look like a barrage of blades fighting a tower of guns.
Snowflake let me go find it. I should have it inside the box of parts. Just need to fish it out lol. I'll update you.

Ah okay. I don't mind specialization but I tend to like guns on everything. The two units will both compliment and counter each other though, which is cool. ANd already the remnants of the Brastle tiger will be useful to others, which I like.

Oh, that is a force to be reckoned with! The "pincer boosters" look amazing; I'm surprised I haven't seen them used that way before! You are such a visionary artist!

You are such a visionary artist! aww thanks for the compliments dude, i cant hold a candle to you dude lol. you are the one with the visionary artistic talent. so many times when im out of mojo for this build, i start to look at your projects and i get inspired to go at it again lol. the claws do look like some jet pack thingy but thats not their main purpose. hopefully when i get to the weapons system, it will be good enough to blow you guys away.
